Ok, I know this sounds wierd, but if I hadn't seen it, I would have never believed it. My neighbor was having a trench dug to install piping. When the contractors came out, the nieghbor said, "Due to last night's phase of the moon, you will not be able to fill the hole/trench." This applied to the trench and the hole that was dug.

Everyone grinned and went to work. However, when the contractors tried to fill the hole with the dirt they removed, they could not. In addition, they had to bring dirt to the site to fill up the hole.

So, have any of you ever heard this? And why was the amount of dirt removed not able to fill the hole and trench that were dug.

I realize that the conglomeration/accumulation of matter is what propels the spin of stars and planets. First of all, is everything in the Milky Way spinning the same direction? If the Milky Way came into existence first with its' counter-clockwise spin, would that give the stars in the galaxy a predisposition to spin counter-clockwise thus adding another factor to the direction and velocity of stellar and planetary spin?

I need some for my class. Prefferably an activity that can be done with groups. 7th grade level stuff. Outside activities would be pretty cool too.
