Where will a compass point at the South Pole?
North!
At the geographic South Pole a magnetic compass points at the South Magnetic Pole, off the coast of Antarctica in the Antarctic Ocean south of Australia (very close to the direction of Adelaide).

i think u r asking that what will be happen if the compass is in south pole ie, not in between, only on the south pole. But the pole doesnot dependent on the direction, the portion where the magnetic field high is considered as north and low as south.

It would point at the ground, or the south pointing part of the needle would. The north pointing part of the needle would point up at the sky. That is, if you let it, by holding the compass sideways. If you held it horizontally, as is usual, it would point randomly or just wander without pointing in any steady direction.

Where will the compass what in the south pole?
Although in answer to what I think you're trying to ask, consider the fact that the magnetic poles do not correspond with geographical ones

It will point to the magnetic south pole. Does that answer your question?
