spiders are a pain (and kinda scary) but they are necessary to kill other pests in your home. Spiders eat many bugs that you don't even realize you have. If you were truly able to rid your home of spiders you would notice lots of other creepy crawlies. You may want to consider this before you go commando on all the spiders.

In a cup, mix dish washing detergent and water together and throw it on the spider. Also, works very well on wasps and wasp nests.

I use Lysol and other cleaning agents. It's probably not very nice, but I can never get them with a shoe or a fly swatter.

A fly swatter works real good. or, 1 drop of dish liquid in 1 quart of water with some mouth wash.
