I am looking for the name of the diaper bag that was featured in RD recently. It was designed by a mom and it opens up to become a sort of portable crib. Anyone know what I'm talking about??? ;-) Thanks, j

My daughter is 12 monhts, and for a long time now, she won't nurse under a blanket. So I try to nurse her before we leave home, and I usually don't stay out too long unless I go somewhere, where I can nurse her privately. I think it's perfectly fine for women to nurse in public, but I'm extremely shy. And she doesn't nurse peacefully anymore. She exposes me all the time, and she keeps turning her head to look around, exposing my breast, as I try to cover up quickly.

That makes it difficult especially during the holidays, because she still nurses every 2 hours around the clock, and that doesn't leave much time to go anywhere...

Any advice?

I have tried giving my baby something apart from milk to drink, but she is not interested in the cup, she just bites the bottom of it or fusses when I try to get her to drink from it. I have given it to her to play with so she's familiar with it but it's not working, please help! Is water that important at this stage that I should be persisting with this?

I am breastfeeding my daughter. She will be a month old on the 15. However, this past week I had surgery to remove my gallbladder. Right up until the surgery I was pumping every 3 hours or so to keep my milk supply up. However for over 24 hours I was unable to pump because of the severe pain I was in. During this whole ordeal, we had no choice but to give her formula (this surgery was tentatively scheduled for Jan so I had not stocked up enough breastmilk yet). I dont seem to be producing as much milk anymore, and while she loves the breastmilk, she won't stay latched on very long. Does anyone have any advice?

My daughter is coming up on being a month old in just a few days. She loves to be held and we love holding her. However, a lot of times, not always, it seems that when she falls asleep, once we put her down, she wakes up and cries. She won't stop crying until she's picked up again. Does anyone have any tips on how to help her sleep and what to do to help her sleep alone?

This is my first time giving birth and I am debating whether to have only my husband in the delivery room, or my two sisters and close friend as well? The hospital will allow numerous visitors so that wont be an issue.

My husband wants it to be just him and I, but I feel like I'm going to need moral support from women who have been in my position.

Any inputs would be appreciated.

My daughter is 6 wks old and she is breastfed. The past couple nights she had played all nighters with me, last night being the longest 1am-1pm sleeping a half hour to hour most, screaming and crying most of the time. When i checked her diaper it appeared like there was some blood in her urine, it was an orangeish pink type of color. I called the nurse and Im waiting for the doctor to call me back. The nurse said she was going to page the doctor because i told her about the crying and screaming. Has anyone ever expierenced this?

Of course my son is only 5 months old right now, but I really would like to get to 2 years with him nursing. That is my ultimate goal. If we only make it to 1 year, that's fine also, but I would really like to go beyond that. Can anyone give me links to the benefits of going to 2 years old? So far I've only heard that 1 years old is benficial, though I've heard of other women nursing to 2+ years and beyond. Why is this? A comfort reason or more for a health reason?

My Husband feeds our daughter pumped breast milk through a syringe at night so i can get some sleep? The nurse gave us formula and a syringe but i DO NOT want to give into formula unless its a must. I already got suckered into it and they did it at the hospital once. But My baby isnt even a week old so i cant give her the bottle yet (i dont want nipple confusion) so can i syringe feed her breastmilk or do you think this is a bad idea? And if you think its ok how many sessions would be too many?

I know this scenario is not plausible in today's day and age so if it helps, pretend its 100-200 years ago.

Especially mums!!! What weight did you guess your babies to be before they were born, and were you right???

I guessed my little one to be 7lb6oz, and she was 7lb4.5oz, so I was just 1.5oz out!
