A couple who I know just had a baby which they named 'Jax'. I have a feeling that once he starts school, especially high school, it's going to be brutal. I can see a certain phrase being yelled out everytime the teacher calls out his name.(use your imagination) Don't people think about these things when naming their children?

It's from the Netherlands. Kind of reminds me of the French name Clothilde. Any names similar to this besides Chloe or Clodagh?

Can someone who knows arabic help me please.

For naming a child; I've read many places that Xavier in Arabic means 'Bright'.

Is this correct or does the name not exist in Arabic?

If it is correct what is the correct way to pronouce it in English?

I know it also has origins in Spanish and basque.

I've googled it myself so I'd prefer answers from people who know Arabic.

Thank you.

I sort of made it up but i thought it was cute. The name is Kethany, it's like Bethany with a K. I would pair it with Leanne.
What do you think?

I am having the hardest time thinking of boys names that don't end in 'n' and yet aren't too plain! All the names i can think of that i really like end with and 'n' and my sons does also..I'm planning on having a bit of kids, and I'd like a little more variety than that if they all turn out to be boys. Any ideas?

We are pregnant and don't know the sex and are looking for suggestions on names. Doesn't matter the syllables, but has to end in an N. Nothing TOO outlandish, but a little unusual is ok. Please don't give me names from the top 10 baby names! Lol

I adore this name, first name, middle name or last name!
What do you think of it as a first name, or a middle name?
I think it sounds good as a middle name with any first name, but how does it sound as a first name and then any middle name
thank you :)

My fiances last name is Brown. (i love it...it's actually pronounceable compared to mine)

We're both pretty fun and outgoing people, but we only seem to come up with 'typical' names for our kids. (I'm currently pregnant..wasn't expecting it...but it was bound to happen sooner or later)

Not to say that we don't like them, but when we actually sit down to think, it seems that we only come up with typical names like Ryan or Joshua, etc.

right now for a girl we have

Madeline (maddie) Taylor

and for a boy we have

Jacob (jake) Landon

what do you think? I know that it my baby and I can name it whatever I want, but i'm asking for opinions..not a lecture.

Thanks!
