My friend (she is Asian) is having a baby and is thinking of these names:
Ming
Hannah
Colbie
Latrice(like Patrice)
Julisa(Joo-lisa)
She just told me to throw in Aoki, so Aoki too. Okay, what do you think of each name?

Ming is fine, but not terribly cross cultural.

Hannah is lovely, if overused.

Colbie and Julisa are dreadful.

Not sure about Latrice - Patrice is quite dated, and I'm not sure if the "L" updates it enough. Plus, "latrice" sounds awfully close to "latrine." I do like Leatrice - Beatrice with an "L" quite a bit.

When I googled Aoki, the only sites that came up were, well, not sites you'd like to associate with a daughter.

All that said, I know that Hana is a Japanese name that means flower. Maybe Hana Latrice or Hana Leatrice?

I find it odd that Ming and Aoki are both choices being that those are the names of Kimora Lee Simmons daughters but anyway,

Ming - cute, traditional, kind of simple though
Hannah - too overdone, unoriginal, and very americanish
Colbie - cute, might be mistaken for a boys name though
Latrice - I personally dont care for it
Julisa - Ok I guess kinda sounds like trying to hard to mix popular names like lisa and julia or julie
Aoki - cute, might be misspronounced alot though

In the end, however, it is what the parents like that matters. Hope I helped.

Ming - traditional
Hannah - too conservative
Colbie - non gender specific, trendy, modern
Latrice - sounds snotty
Julisa - cute!
Aoki - traditional

I like Julisa and Colbie the most!!

Of the names on the list all I like is Hannah. Latrice sounds too close to latrine so I immediately thought of a bathroom. I'd like Colby if it was spelled with the Y instead of the IE.

I don't care for Latrice, but like the others. Julisa is a very pretty name. I think that is my favorite.

Thumbs up for Hannah. Like Ming too. The rest have to go. Really, they're pretty bad.
