Baby Names - September 2007

Friends of mine are having a baby, they are white, but they are not Italian, and they want to name him Giovanni. I'm meeting up with them soon, and while I don't want to impugn upon their choices, I just wanted to give them advice and forewarnings. So I'm seeking advice here, what do you think, can he? Will he be ridiculed for it?

im looking for any ideas!
Fathers name Jason James Nebinger, Mothers name Krystal Lindsey Porter. I know both names are common but I was kinda goin for something that isnt common. I will probably use the fathers last name so

_____ _____ Nebinger.
Sometimes it seems like the name should sound good with the last name so I was hopeing it would help... but if you want we can do names for the last name of "Porter" too!
Thanks... I have found a few names I like... I like the name Jakayla for a girl, Kamdyn or Kamden for a boy. Only because "J" for the fathers name.. and "K" for the mothers.. But it doesnt have to be that way, so any ideas.. Thank you sooo much!

I want a name for a girl that will never be out of style. I want a name for a girl that is beautiful. I want a name for a girl that is strong. I want a name for a girl that suggests that she is kind. I am looking for a name that is not too common (not in the top 15) but not weird either.

Have just found out that my brother-in-law and his girl friend are havin a baby boy, which is great news.
What I'm upset about is the name they have chosen.
They have informed us all that they are going to call him stephen.
The problem for me is 8 years ago my baby son, Stephen, died.
Their name choice is really upsetting me, but they have said "tough sh*t".
How can i make them understand, this name is special and to please not use it.

I disregarded both Jemma Grace and Rylie Jade for a girl and also the middle names Carter and Logan for a boy. All of your suggestions are REALLY helpful! My current choices are:
