Why are you having trouble picking out names....how does the baby feel do you ever get the impression that he likes something or doesn't like something? Her's an example of what I mean...my first son, Antonio, I was pregnant with him at Christmas time and I would listen to Christmas carols on the radio, and I got the impression that he really liked a particular song because he'd kick alot. Now that he's 5 he says what he wants to hear and he dances, or nods his head or snaps his fingers to the beat of whatever. So does he seem extra active when you take a bath or go swimming - name him something to do with water, like Calder or Douglas. Or a name that means happy, like Zorion or Asher. Congrats!
Calder Zorion
Douglas Asher
PS I do like the name David Michael.

Don't listen to people who say it's boring. David Michael is a gorgeous classic name. When all the Jaydens and Kaylees names have aged, they will sound like Gertrude or Herman, or Shirley and Ron, which were pretty 'cutting edge' in their own day.
David is a name of kings, and biblical name and means beloved. I think telling your son he is beloved is a wonderful birthday gift to give him. Also, David is not even in the top ten currently so that means he will not have a ton of Davids to compete with.
Michael is beautiful. It is a popular name, but it is still a meaningful, timeless one.
According to social security, last year there were 17, 248 Davids born in the united states. That's less than 1% of all the baby boys born that year, so not very many.
Also, you want your baby to be special, but you also want your child to fit in. Giving him a nice, solid name like David is a great way to do that!
If you want suggestions for more 'classic' or timeless names, consider:
Alan
Alexander
Anderson
Andrew
Benjamin
Barrett
Bennett
Daniel
Davis
Duncan
Edward
Edmond
Elliott
Emmett
Eric
Frederick
George
Graham
Henry
James
Jay
Jack
Jacob (though this is number one)
Joseph
Jonah
Marcus
Matthew
Nathan
Lucas
Nathaniel
Noel
Nicholas
Paul
Phillip
Preston
Quentin
Robert
Roman
Samuel
Saul
Seth
Simon
Stuart
Thomas
Warren
William
But I think David is perfect! :)

Both names, yes they are common but they are both very strong names. Either, David Michael or Michael David, your little man will be awesome. The one will come to you and stick in your mind, that will be the one. By the way my husband is Michael David. He's a very strong personality with a sensitive side.

I like the name David Michael. It's strong and grows well with the child. He could go by Dave. It's a cool name and a classic that won't go dated. I like that it's a normal name as well. It's refreshing to see traditional names being used now with all the crazy names that are out there. Good luck and Congrats!

I think it is traditional but very nice. My father's name was David and it is a common name in his family so my son will carry that middle name; my boyfriend's father is also a David. It's a strong name and it makes me think of my dad, who was a great and honorable man. Congrats.
