I also lost my motheri n 2004 and in 2005 (october) I became pregnant and I wanted nothing more for her to be with me and meet the baby I had waited 13yrs for. Her name was very "old fashion" so my husband and I agreed if we had a girl we'd name her Shayla Louise (louise being my mothers name) didnt want it as a first because of how "old fashion old lady" it sounded. Victoria Merl sounds good to me or Shae Lynn

Personally I like Victoria Merl Lynn (you can have 2 middle names you know)

I had a boy his name is Trey Allan Robert

Allan after my husbands adoptive father
Robert after my dad

I'm not suggesting one way or the other, but if the wizard comments bothered you (or you think they might your daughter), you could simply consider Merilyn. It's a known variation of Marilyn and an even more obvious combination of your mothers' names! And of course, very feminine and in no way associated with a masculine sorcerer. ;)

Also, "merlyn" is the actual Welsh word for a small horse or pony. Just a heads up there!

As far as first names are concerned, Victoria sounds lovely. Shea doesn't flow quite as well into an M middle name (sounds like the word "shame"), but if you do use it, "s-h-e-a" is the correct spelling. I'm sure that was just a typo, but wouldn't want to NOT tell you and have it go unnoticed, right? ;)

Good luck!

i thinks its actually beautiful! i absolutely love it. even as a first name. Victoria Merrlyn goes together better than Shae Merrlyn does. Victoria and Shae are both very pretty and cute names but Victoria works better. Merrlyn Victoria or Merrlyn Shae is actually my favorites! again Victoria would be a better middle name. but shae still sounds good. great job with the names! i love 'em! =]

I won't be mean or nasty. Where I live (Texas) we get the Sunday newspaper. In that paper is a magazine named "Parade". In that magazine there's a section for Q & A for Marilyn. 1 R. I don't know her personnaly but over the years I'
ve learned to respect her answers even if some of them are dumb. We all have our flaws. That name is fine. 100 miles south of here is a small town named Victoria. I love it.. and the name. You can't go wrong with either one. She won't be teased as she grows up.

I was named after my maternal grandmother and maternal great grandmother and have loved carrying that legacy. I love the name Merrlyn - it's very pretty. Victoria and Shae are nice, but I'd worry that her friends will call her Vicky. If you like that name, then it's ok. Don't worry about what other people think.

Merrlyn is horrible. If you want to combine Merl and Lynn, do it in a way that your child can live with: Marilyn.

I like Victoria Marilyn or Marilyn Renee.

my friends name is Merrill. Victoria is kind of plain, and i like Shay as a middle name better. Merrlyn is ok, and i can see why it is special to you. Merrill Lynn [like lynn as a middle name]] would be cutee.

I think Shae Lynn sounds the best.
Shae is a unique name.
