My fiances last name is Brown. (i love it...it's actually pronounceable compared to mine)

We're both pretty fun and outgoing people, but we only seem to come up with 'typical' names for our kids. (I'm currently pregnant..wasn't expecting it...but it was bound to happen sooner or later)

Not to say that we don't like them, but when we actually sit down to think, it seems that we only come up with typical names like Ryan or Joshua, etc.

right now for a girl we have

Madeline (maddie) Taylor

and for a boy we have

Jacob (jake) Landon

what do you think? I know that it my baby and I can name it whatever I want, but i'm asking for opinions..not a lecture.

Thanks!

Madeline Taylor Brown sounds fine as does Jacob Landon Brown. They'll actually stand out in the sea of Addisons, Madisons, Kadens, Jaydens and Bradens! If you are looking for more original sounding names, but not trendy ones, here's ome of my favorites: Jonas, Tucker, Kyle, Wyatt, Wiley, Hunter, Heath, Lucas, Rhett, Shane, Danica, Charlotte, Felicity, Mallory, Devan, Lily, Amara, Daphne, Fallon, Esme. Congrats to you and Good Luck!

I think you've chosen very nice names, and it sounds like your tastes run to the conventional. This is not a tragedy!

Stick with Jake and Maddie, but you might choose more daring middle names. (Though I quite like your combos as they are.)

Madeline Aracelie
Madeline Ellery
Madeline Wren
Madeline Hart
Madeline Cordelia

Jacob Gideon
Jacob Asher
Jacob Everly
Jacob Hudson
Jacob Rohan

Odds are pretty good that there will be another Madeline Brown/Jacob Brown in the phone book. If that troubles you, an unusual middle name might give your names just enough of a twist.

Jacob isn't unique at all. It's the most popular boy name in the country and has been for years. It is way more common that Ryan or Joshua. Madeline is also pretty popular too and Maddie is very popular with all the Madisons, Madelyns, Madelines, and Madeleines running around.

I would keep looking is you don't want common names because these names aren't it!

I actually like both those names. I almost like Landon as a first name, with Jacob as the middle a little better. Landon Brown is a little less typical than Jacob Brown.
Also, I can't tell how you would pronounce Madeline. Either Mad-a-lyn or Mad-a-line? I personally like Mad-a-lyn better.

Have you tried any of the baby name sites? There are many out there and they most all give the meaning to a name as well.
But also I like the names for a girl Jessica or Mallory
Boy- Dhartanian or Caine
