my aunt is pregnant and due in December. she wants to name her baby Madeline if its a girl, but all the other girls in my family have names that end in -a. my name is Victoria, my sisters name is Briana, and all my girl cousins names are Kayla, Ava, Alina, and Livia. she said that she doesnt want to break the tradition, but she doesnt know any names ending with -a that she really loves. what is your opinion? do you think she should name her Madeline or come up with another name? also, do you know of any cute girl names ending in -a that i could tell her? thanks

Hello everyone. We are expecting baby #2 in a few months and my husband and I are having trouble agreeing on baby names. So, I would like to hear your input. We're agreed on a boy's name - Mitchel (Mitch for short) - for a boy but the girls name is still up inthe air and we're not so agreeant on that one - what do you think?

He likes: Lauren

I like: Desiree (Desi for short) and Kelsie

My sister´s children are Ella and Lily-not nicknames, just their names.

We want to name a girl Eliana, but call her Ellie.

What do you think-are we copying, or does this sound completely different that her children´s names?

now I am definately not one for unusual names. I especially dislike made up names like 'Shanniqua or Quaytashion' and names that no-one knows how to pronounce. However, last week I found out I am expecting a girl and the name Nevaeh (Heaven spelt backwards) has popped into my head and stuck with me. I like the name Chantel also but think it is too popular and don't know if I like it enough to use as a first name. Now what are people's opinions about Nevaeh? I don't want to give my child a name that will automatiically stereotype her as a problem child or someone who isn't intelligent, or not good enough for a particular job because of her name. So in your opinion, a name to use as a middle name and look for another or a name that can be used as a first but she'll still have the same equal opportunity as a female named Christina?

Can anyone tell me boys names they know of that end in 'a'?

I know they more typically now have the fashion of ending in 'o' or 'n'.

I am trying to find boys and girls names that are different without being odd or out of this world, a name that cannot be shortened (I am not a fan of Benjamin, Matthew, etc) and something that doesn't end in 'an', 'en', 'on' or 'in' (our son ends in 'an'). A name that has a meaning related to water would be a bonus. Our surname is Kennedy too.
