family tradition?

my aunt is pregnant and due in December. she wants to name her baby Madeline if its a girl, but all the other girls in my family have names that end in -a. my name is Victoria, my sisters name is Briana, and all my girl cousins names are Kayla, Ava, Alina, and Livia. she said that she doesnt want to break the tradition, but she doesnt know any names ending with -a that she really loves. what is your opinion? do you think she should name her Madeline or come up with another name? also, do you know of any cute girl names ending in -a that i could tell her? thanks

I think that it's up to her. It wouldn't be good to break the tradition. Maybe she could think of an 'a' name that she loves and use Madeline as a middle name? Magdalena, which comes from Magdalene, is really pretty and sounds similar to Madeline so that might work well. Some other 'a' ending names that sound good with Madeline as the middle name are:
Juliana
Ella
Christina
and
Lydia (my name and my favorite ;) )

I think Madeline is very nice. If she wants to try to keep up the family tradition, I have suggested a few.
Look into all options that match the family tradition, then if she can't find one that she just loves......go with Madeline.

I don't think she should name her baby something she doesn't like just to keep the tradition. Personally, I'd go with Madeline if that was the name I really liked. Natasha is a pretty name that ends with a. I think it means born on Christmas. We considered that name because my daughter was due around Christmas, but we went with Nicole because that was the name I really wanted to use.

If she can't think of a name she likes, then let her go with Madeline. But if she's REALLY set on keeping the family tradition, she should keep looking.

I think it'd be a shame if she ruined teh tradition. If the name Madeline means soemthign special to her, then I could see that. But if she only wants that because seh likes the name itself, I'd say it's a shame. Maybe she'd like the name andrea and audrina?

make up nick names like madelina, or madeline anna, who knows some parents think a name means alot to them some kids donot like their names when they get older. like john the third, or james jr.. family traditions could be a curse on some kids.. give your aunt a break and let her name her child.. you could always nickname the little one later when you see what habits, or funny things that she does.. good luck
