A couple who I know just had a baby which they named 'Jax'. I have a feeling that once he starts school, especially high school, it's going to be brutal. I can see a certain phrase being yelled out everytime the teacher calls out his name.(use your imagination) Don't people think about these things when naming their children?

I know lots of people who have named boys Jax (usually short for Jaxon/Jaxson). As far as I know it has not caused any problems. And hey, it worked for the hunk on General Hospital!!

Sometimes names can grow on you and you can make fun of a LOT of names if you really think about it. And for the name Santana I knew a little girl who had that name and she was a sweet little girl. You need to keep an open mind about other people's names. I guess if they truely hate their names when they get older they can change it.

Actually, that one is not bad. Wouldn't do it myself, but it's cute and the boy may have a personally suited to it!

That said, I have seen and heard abominations by way of names. When my fiancee and I had our son, we went through every possible 'nickname' the poor kid could get from our favorite names and eliminated those that were particularly pick-on-able.

Its the new thing to try to make your child unique by giving them some weird name thats only going to get them made fun of.Couldn't they have named him Jack or jak to spell it different or jackson. People need to realize that they can choose unique names that aren't weird.

That is a great name I like it!! If he is a cute personable guy the name will be great!!!! He needs to be tougher than the kids that give him a hard time at school. I dont really think he will have any hard time with that name it sounds tough!!

My nephew who is 13 has the name Jax. He is not teased at all. Everyone loves him name at school and he is very 'popular' among the kids in his class. Maybe you are using your imagination like an adult rather than a child.

Did she name him after the soap character? Because all I think of when I see it is a lanky Australian guy. But even then, it's his last name. Definitely not something you should call a child.

There will always be things to tease kids about their names. It's just all part of growing up.
