Pregnancy & Parenting - 17 February 2007

I noticed a lot of women get into the mommy routine and give up on all of their hopes and dreams. Why? I love both of my daughters more than anything, but I want them to know they can be mommies and fulfill their dreams at the same time. I mean some women lose sight of their life goals, don't take the time to do anything for themselves. Have you done this? If you don't have kids, are you willing to give up everything you ever wanted to do for the kids you may have?

like if say your dad rapes you and u get pregnat shoud you have to keep the baby knowing its going to be a BIG mastake? Or a stranger how in the world would you tell ur kid that you were a mistake and your dad is a complete stranger and them having the guilt of being born a rape baby?!

My daughter had extreme milk allergies when she was born so she was on a formla called Neocate. I switched her to cow's milk about 1 month ago and she had no problems with the cow's milk. She started refusing to drink milk about 1 week ago. I tried chocolate and strawberry milk in a bottle and a sippy cup but she refuses. What can I do? I tried giving her cheese but she doesn tlike that either.

Ever since my daughter recovered from strep and the flu (noted by her doc.) She has been sleeping alot! I mean i understand in children the sickness wears them down. However this is bad. She WILL not eat anything, she sits and picks and complains that she is NEVER hungry, then she goes to bed, 2 days ago she slept from about 8 in the morning til 6pm, then when back to sleep and slept until 7:30 am, Yesterday she went to sleep at 4pm, and slept til 10:00 this morning then she turned around went bk to sleep and slept til 4pm, and is now sleeping again and has been since about 5pm. we have tried to wake her and she keeps saying she is too tired and goes bk to sleep. I talked to the doctor and they said theres not much they can do. However wouldnt you think that if she hasnt been eating, and sleeping all the time that it could lead to something bad? PLEASE HELP she is 4 years old.

My daughter is 5.5 weeks old. THe past week she has had a fussy spell from about 730pm to 11pm. She doesn't cry constantly...there are things I can do to soothe her, but they only last about a minute. So, I put her in the swing, she stops crying, 1 minute later, screaming. I pick her up and put her in the bouncy seat. She stops. I think I've figred out what is wrong, 1 minute later, screams. I hold her, 1 minute later, screams, put her on the floor, one minute later, screams, try to feed her, try to burp her, try to cuddle her, leave her alone, talk to her.....I am breastfeeding if that means anything here...I am about at my wits end. About 11pm I am about in tears until she finally eats and then falls asleep for the night. Is there anything else I can do? I DO try those gas drop things...they don't help either. Please help!

did 2 tests this morning and thought they was negative and went back to sleep. woke up to find both had lines. i know to disregard these after 10 mins as can't be a true reading so i tested again and watched the dye move across and a bfp came up straight away. after about 5 hours it slowly started to fade and now there isn't anything at all.

does anyone know why the test would fade like that? could the 2 tests in the morning be positives even though i left it too late to look at them again? has anyone experienced this and been pg?

thanks for any help and advise you can give me.

i will be testing again in the morning btw but would just like to know why the test did what it did

I have been pressing down on my belly the last couple of days and it appears to be kind of hard. My lower abdomen is hard and above my belly button is hard too. Could I be pregnant or can it mean something else?

My son always gets these red blotches on him on and off, somedays they are worse than others. He gets them on the back of his thighs, insides of his elbows, and his lower torso mainly. He has two spots on the back of each thigh that always seem to be there, somedays they are bright red and noticable and other days they are faded an less noticable but always there. Tonight I went to give him a bath and he had them all over the backs of his thighs, those two spots were bright red, he had the blotches all over his lower torso, the insides of his elbows and this time he even had them on the front of his thigh. Anybody have any idea what this could be? Everytime I want to take him to the doctor, they are never there..except those two spots which are faded. I can't ever seem to get to the doctors when they are bad because they always seem to be worse at night than during the day. I always notice them when I am getting him ready for bed.

I took sex ed sophomore year in high school. Girls are getting pregnant at the age of 13!!! Which is 8th grade for most students, Why arent the schools requiring sex education at a younger age. Half of these girls dont even know there is a chance they could get pregnant, or how it happens. Seems like boys are sticking their willies anywhere they can these days not knowing any of the risks, pregnancy, STD's etc. Children are becoming parents! Its insane! Why isnt someone doing something?

I have a real nice girlfriend. I'm very much in love with her. She love me very much. No, she and I didn't had sex yet. During the party, when I was with my girlfriend, some girl asked me to have sex with her. I, of couse, said no. Is that the right thing to do? I can't stand to see my girlfriend to get hurt. When I went to a party with my girlfriend, she was getting really sleepy, so I drove her home and no, I didn't plan to have sex with her. If I want to have sex with her, I rather talk to her about it. Not sure how to go about that also.
