A North Pole expedition meant to bring attention to global warming was called off after one of the explorers got frostbite. The explorers, Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen, on Saturday called off what was intended to be a 530-mile trek across the Arctic Ocean after Arnesen suffered frostbite in three of her toes, and extreme cold temperatures drained the batteries in some of their electronic equipment

“Ann said losing toes and going forward at all costs was never part of the journey,” said Ann Atwood, who helped organize the expedition. One night they measured the temperature inside their tent at 58 degrees below zero, and outside temperatures were exceeding 100 below zero at times, Atwood said.

Proving that the world is about to become a flaming inferno is supposed to be easy, isn’t it?

Today Christians ... stand at the head of this country We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit ... We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theater, and in the press - in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past years.

Public approval ratings for the new Democratic Congress' performance are hovering around 20 percent, a third lower than Bush's anemic standing in the polls and among the lowest congressional ratings ever recorded.

In my opinion, she should be wearing a big black hat, riding a broom... she should also watch out for falling houses!
I think she is evil and corruption DEFINED in American politics. A total phony politician driven by a hunger for power and greed. A socialist, Pro_UN, anti-military, old-hippy dinosaur who couldnt lead ants to a picnic let alone lead this nation.
How about you? Whats your take on Hillary Clinton?

Why haven't we heard an apology from hillary clinton after she was caught red handed when her staffers were using "planted" audience menbers in the audience?

Isn't this the typical lying politician we don't want in the oval office?

Any ideas out there?

I've been reading about a range of US vetoes against UN resolutions. I just want to understand about these vetoes - how much do they affect the overall resolution?

Say if one member country like the US vetoes something then how does that affect the resolution? Does it stop it altogehter or does it still go ahead?

This is not an anti-american post btw, just one which is trying to understand more about UN resolutions and the veto process.

Thanks for any answers.
