as a buddhist - from what i have learnt of the man - he is very compassionate and was the first person in history to give everyone rights - to men, women, children disabled people etc.
What a great figure but unfortunatley people love to judge him to todays standards although he lived 1450 years ago.
Before people spout things they have heard about him, why not look into his life - exactly what i did

Must be laughing in the grave at the misery of living human kind with communication problems.
Luke 9.55-56
With cheap-skate glory of idol worshiping the dead Mummy of failures and horrors of the past.
Until idol of statues had tears on them could not stop themselves from laughing too when they were living human kind and not the dead after being short-changed with cheap-skate ghostly stories without being aware of the mess created back in the past.
Luke 10.24
Getting themselves kick on the butts as casualty of the dead Mummy in not worshiping God in climbing up the coconut trees and still look green with lost sense of direction and purpose of life without being aware of the mess out there.
Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49
The greatest embarassment of the century for the community all over a teddy bear?
What do you think?

Not much. I don't think he'd mind having the bear named after him. In fact, I think he would be flattered that the children think so much of him that they want to name a major portion of their school lives after him.
Personally, I think that the Muslims calling for the death penalty are looking at this all the wrong way - it was a GOOD thing that they kids wanted to name the bear after someone who is such an influence in their lives.

Probably be flattered that a child decided to name a Teddy Bear after him, like any man would, and be sickened at what his extremists followers use as an excuse to kill other human beings that mean them no harm.
Probably the same view Jesus would have of his extremist followers, that use him as an excuse to hate.

Since it happened in an Islamic religious led countries, I don't think he would be too upset. He probably would just order a hundred murder bombers to kill as many Jews as possible, bomb a train in Madrid and Great Britain and just fly one plane into a large building anywhere in the U.S. Not too mad.

I don't think they had teddy bears then. Children used to play with stones.

First, he would listen to both sides. Then, he would tell the troublemakers to sit down, shut up, and lighten up.
Of course, he would have to spend about a year learning the new culture, and the history behind it.
