I'm sure Bill would be able to travel diplomatically on his own credentials, and she could have someone else in the S of S position. It would be redundant to appoint him, and possibly a liability. Having one's spouse in a cabinet position might be seen as nepotism.

I think that's an incredible idea! Maybe not as Secretary of State, but as a roving ambassador to visit our allies and mend fences. Everyone likes Bill, and he has good knowledge and experience in international relations, plus, he is very personable, a good talker.
The hallmark of the Bush administration has been cronyism. People have gotten good jobs because they were close to the party though organizing donations or the proper political ideology or whatever. But competence never counted for much in the Bush admin. This has never been how the Democratic Party operated, and Hillary will have a chance to show that by putting real experts in charge of important issues. Like him or not, there probably isn't anyone as expert or as experienced in foreign relations in the US today as Bill Clinton.

I don't believe she would make him Secretary of State. Possibly a good will ambassador at best. But let me say this your question is so hypothetical because even if Hillary gets the democratic nomination she will not win. She has so many negatives she will not carry the day, but also America is not ready for a woman president. So be prepared for a white, male republican president.

Not under the current nepotism laws. Put in place after JFK & Bobby Kennedy. Yet, if President she can petition to alter the said law or adapt it to extend to her whims. With a Democratic House expect the whole thing to go out the window.
Bill tried unsuccessfully with a Republican House to extend Presidential term limits. SO anything is possible. Pray it ain't so.
edit: PD typed it in b4 me, correct!

Yes she can, but she won't. She will keep Bill on a short leash. She does not want him sexually harrassing women all over the world! Secretary of Labor might be a better job for him. He could stay in DC where Hillary can easily keep an eye on him.

i think of her *** has grown drastically. Flew adequate miles in super public jets to heat the globe by 3 ranges. She have been given her husband to get a pair of hostages out of N. Korea. Dodged sniper bullets in dozens of countries. observed the present presidential distant places coverage of apologizing for being American around the realm. Made us seem vulnerable at each and every possibility. proper on message for liberals.

She could nominate him, sure. Not sure the Senate would confirm him, though. (Wouldn't be the first time a President named a member of his family to the cabinet - John Kennedy named his brother Robert Attorney General.)

Improve world relations? How? Will the rest of the world suddenly elect chubby, desperate women as their leaders? The man is a buffoon. Just look at his performance over the last few days.
