Dollar Rises

The dollar rose Thursday against the euro on a stronger-than expected U.S. economic report and a decline in consumer confidence in France, one of Europe's largest economies.
The dollar also was bolstered by a report from the Commerce Department that the U.S. economy grew at a 4.9 percent pace from July through September. That was the strongest performance in four years

The reading performance of children in England has fallen from third to 19th in the world in a major assessment.

The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (Pirls), undertaken every five years, involved children aged about 10 in 40 countries.

Scotland also fell, from 14th to 26th. Russia, which matched it last time, was top of the overall achievement table.

Which is worse:

Bush and company lying about the existence of WMDs in Iraq and going into the war under a false pretense...

or

Bush and company (EVERONY Bush put around him) getting duped by bad intel... getting SO duped that they got us into the war?

i contend that Bush lying is more EVIL... but bush and company getting duped is far more dangerous.

It occurred to me that the modern GOP refers a lot to Lincoln and Reagan, but never to Ike. Why not?

insulting God/Jesus?

According to the Bible, you're not suppose to use his name in vaid and conversion is punishible by death. The Bible commands its followers to kill their brothers and even their fathers if they worship another God.

Things dont always work out the way they promised and the Conservatives say, as a last resort "well you liberals just WANTED us to fail. Yeah, thats it".

Please. Whatever happened to all that 'personal responsibilty' or was that just more empty rhetoric and hypocrisy?

I'm guessing it is as there are no liberals who ever said "As I liberal I hope America fails"

The only definition I've heard was from the untrustworthy Ted Kennedy. Yet his definition doesn't even make sense. He called it both mock drownding and said it activates the gag reflex. That doesn't make sense! The gag reflex would make you throw up. Drownding, on the other hand makes your windpipe close up, kind of like an asthma attack. So which is it?

that all of the troubles in the world were created by conservatives? You know, the way Limbaugh has..Just curious, as I can't comprehend how people can accept the crazy conspiracy theories, even if they do support their political preference. I dislike Bush, but it doesn't mean I think he caused 9-11. Yet so many people seem to swallow the rhetoric spit out by people like Limbaugh.

Ok , im going to actually lesson to what you pro-bush people have to say . I want to know , how the hell he expects us to win . In my opinion , this is an unwinable war that will go on forever unless we bomb every arab country . And i certainly dont believe in that , although some of you may .

Can't find anything to take their place and find myself going to bed earlier now. John and Steve are probably salivating over all of the stuff going on with no comments from them. They will have lots to cover, when they get back on air.

I saw it coming. I watched the same debate with the Dems a couple weeks ago. And it seemed like they were thrown softballs. Why didn't CNN have the intelligence to have the right/important questions asked to the Reps. More should have been on Taxes, Iraq and Healthcare. And how big of a joke was the Gay General? Ask important questions....

Ain't it funny that the darling of conservatives is the laziest candidate ever?

And will it matter next November?

It bothered me that most of the candidates could not keep their answers within the time allowed. It's like a direct correlation that they can't limit their spending if they can't limit their verbosity.

Yep , I got over 1300 - ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED - abusive emails from 3 users in less than 24 hours . Far too vulgar to post a copy of any of them here .. . . . although I'd like to .

Anyways I got several responses from Customer Care(or whatever they're called) and they said they were concerned and took 'Appropriate Action' . But that's a lie too cause I got 300 more this morning from 2 of the guys who I had Blocked !!

These sick individuals are 'deCONstruction' , 'Justgoodfolk' , and 'Count Acumen' . .. . . just in case you get attacked by them I thought you should know they've done it many times before .

So what is the Punishment for such acts ?

Is there a better way to report this behavior to make it stop ?
