I was a regular in this part of Y!A until the Repubs vs Dems fight bored the hell outta me. Thats when I decided to explore Y!A a bit more. Just decided to pay a little visit here and see how things are.

So is it still the same 'ole Politics sections where Repubs and Dems indulge in mud-slinging rather than doing something to actually help their nation? Or have things improved here?

Yet, When Liberals look at the same man they see a victim?

Hillary's example would be to raise taxes to help miserable poor people. A Conservative would help them to find a job.

I could live with Guilliani as the Republican nominee and I think he is generally articulate on the issues, but he got. . forgive the pun. . . shot up over the gun contol question.

His basic premise to the Second Amendment was that the rules applying to the right to bear arms are not absolute, and then went on to cite certain legislation.

He would have been much better off saying, "Look, The First Amendment guarantees Freedom of Relgion, but that doesn't mean you can practice human sacrifice. The First Amendment aslo guarantees Freedom of Speech, but that doesn't mean you can go blabbing nuclear secrets to Iran."

"Similarly, the Second Amendment may not be absolute. It may be reasonable to ban assault weapons, do background checks, or deny weapons to someone who has a track record of mental illness. As the First Amendment has certain limitations, I believe the Second should as well."

Granted, the answer may have not gone far with last night's crowd, but it is defensible

Since Section 8 of the US Constitution states:

Congress shall have power:

To coin Money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and to fix the standards of weights and measures;

Shouldn't we be blaming the Democrat controlled congress for the falling value of the US dollar. Didn't the dollar start to fall shortly after democrats took control in Jan, 2007?

Scientists have found a new threat to the planet: Canadian beer drinkers.

The government-commissioned study says the old, inefficient "beer fridges" that one in three Canadian households use to store their Molson and Labatt's contribute significantly to global warming by guzzling gas- and coal-fired electricity.

"People need to understand the impact of their lifestyles," British environmental consultant Joanna Yarrow tells New Scientist magazine. "Clearly the environmental implications of having a frivolous luxury like a beer fridge are not hitting home. This research helps inform people — let's hope it has an effect."

The problem is that the beer fridges are mostly decades-old machines that began their second careers as beverage dispensers when Canadians upgraded to more energy-efficient models to store whatever Canadians eat besides doughnuts and poutine.

University of Alberta researcher Denise Young, who led the study, suggests that provincial authorities hold beer-fridge buy-backs or round-ups to eliminate the threat — methods that Americans use to get guns off the streets.

In my government class I'm doing a report on Democrats (their history, beliefs, etc). I can't seem to find any good websites that give thorough information besides Wikipedia, which we're not allowed to use. I would like to read more about their beliefs on certain issues..gay rights, abortion, and health care in particular.

Know of any good, accurate websites?

I stayed up late last night to watch the Republicans debate on CNN . At the time I was thinking that the forum was immature and seemed slanted by the questionable questions . But I thought further and decided it must be because the questions were coming from YouTube . . . . . . UNTIL this morning . Now I'm sure everyone knows that Hillary got caught planting a member of her campaign to ask a question . . . . . For the UMPTEENTH time !!
And I'm wondering if Hillary supporters are decent honest people who expect Hillary to be decent and honest as well .Or maybe they are decent honest people , and maybe some or many of them are getting fed-up with this FRAUD . I don't know , maybe Hillary supporters also support FRAUD ???

So do tell. . . . . . .. Are Any Of The Hillary Supporters Getting Fed-Up With Hillary's Lies And Fraud ?

Both worthless. All people ever do on here is trash the other party, trying to prove which one has the worst record on whatever. The most scum, the most corrupt, the most criminal. And people make good arguments on both sides.
Face it, there is only one party. They may claim they stand for different things, but when it comes time to pay up, what happens. Blame it on the other guy. Give up already, please!!! I'm tired of hearing about it, from both sides.

Considering it was Bubba Clintoon who instituted that policy as President. Maybe he should have asked that question at the Dem debate of Hillary and the other non veteran candidates.

Since the dems running for president feel its ok to tell little lies, change positions...sometimes within minutes...and since they feel its ok to plant questions in both the dem debate(softball) and the republican debate(to humiliate if possible), do they think everyone does it??...is that why they refuse to debate of Fox broadcasting??

I won't pass judgment on the story because I don't know the entire story, nor nearly enough about the Muslim faith - but I wonder:
A: why is she teaching there in the first place? it sounds like Sudan is attempting to "westernize" by keeping British teachers after Sudan ceased being a British colony (?) - so if they want to "westernize"- isn't some religious berth/allowance a western tenet?
B: what actions in America, as an "affront to Christianity", would bring such a riotous ire by Christians (not that there'd be any judicial proceedings, as our freedoms protect us from religious persecution - supposedly lol) but what would bring riotous ire nonetheless? - one thing I could think of, is if there was a TV show comedy portraying Jesus as a homosexual or something - or a pornographic movie with a Biblical themed plot

of course there will always be religio-nutjobs on the fringe- but that's not my point
