How long before Dingy Harry says he never said the war was unwinnable so we can make the two-shot video of him contradicting himself?

"However, a rosier view of the military situation in Iraq has not translated into increased support for maintaining U.S. forces in Iraq, greater optimism that the United States will achieve its goals there, or an improvement in President Bush's approval ratings." What about this?

Iraq is a failure of great magnitude by most measures. We attacked Iraq not to displace a corrupt leader but rather because of his ties to Al Qaeda and his creation of weapons of mass destruction, both of which have proven false.

Now, at the helm, is a Iraqi government friendly to Iran, a shia government!

Lastly, the pentagon wished to send 350,000 troops into Iraq at the onset of the war, to which Rumsfield and Bush said no, 125,000 must do. The white house was wrong of course, and, Iraq has melted into chaos and factionalism. Yes, the surge has diminished the violence, for now.

How, can by any measure, a Republican state with clarity Iraq has been a theater of engagement that is successful?

Am I supposed to be impressed that NEARLY HALF so not even the majority of those polled "express positive opinions" on the situation in Iraq. Could we get something a little more vague to be asked so that maybe a little more then half could agree.

what is really unfortunate is that we have one political party (the Democrats) that is reliant on our defeat in the Middle East as the only source of validation for them coming to power. So for them it's either America wins, and the dems are disgraced, or America loses and the dems gain more power. it's very sad, especially when we have a mainstream media whose vested interests lie in the same vein as the democratic party. We need to get the truth out there about who these people are, what their agenda is and how harmful it is to the average American. A good beginning is very noticable in the horrific ratings of CNN, ABC, NBC and MSNBC news and the freefall decline in our socialist newspapers. Keep ever vigilant, my friends. the silent majority can no longer keep silent. We need to denounce and beat these socialist bastards every way we can.

How about reading your own link? This rosy news does not translate into support for keeping the troops in Iraq? 51 % to 41% support bringing the troops home. This has stayed the same all year? And also, the presidents approval rating still at 30% , remaining unchanged?
Edit: Why the thumbs down for pointing the facts in his own article? Becasue you don't like them? Bunch of damn hypocrites, as usual.

Big surprise. Half of Americans still believe Iraq was involved in the 9/11 attack.

All the politicians live by the polls but what amazes me, Bush had better Poll numbers than Congress has since the democrats took over.

As a conservative democrat, I think its great cause most true democrats are middle of the road or slightly conservative.
The Repubs don't hold the market on being conservative. I like to keep more of my money, believe in helping people, but not whole sale welfare for multiple generations.

Glad others are watching the numbers and listening to the pulse of the nation.
