In my government class I'm doing a report on Democrats (their history, beliefs, etc). I can't seem to find any good websites that give thorough information besides Wikipedia, which we're not allowed to use. I would like to read more about their beliefs on certain issues..gay rights, abortion, and health care in particular.

Know of any good, accurate websites?

You may want to take a look at the Democratic National Platform adopted in July 2004: http://www.ontheissues.org/Dem_Platform_2004.htm

Remember that a couple decades ago the two parties, in essence, switched sides. The Democrats used to be closer to what the Republicans are now.
