I just saw a story on CNN about a Saudi woman who was gang raped. The result; she was sentenced to 6 months in prison and 200 lashes. Why is the West is so obsessed with portraying Islam as a positive force in the world? Does the rhetoric match reality? I know that there are all kinds of Muslims (devout, lapsed, practicing, in name only, etc.), but it seems to me, as a casual observer, that the more devout the Muslim, the more likely he is to be backwards and dangerous. Just look at the Middle East; by and large, it is fascist, autocratic or theocratic, women are subjugated and minorities persecuted. Islamic countries are rife with poverty and have been for centuries. Would any of you apologetics who are going to respond to this posting calling me a racist (confusing a religious ideology with a race) really choose to live in Riyad over the US? It seems to me that the Muslim world is a lot like 15th century Spain; backwards and cruel. Why pretend otherwise?

I think no matter what, it was right he had to go to war, they bombed us, you can't just let that go, that is like a real offense, but I just think he did not know how to lead or have an end plan that backfired, but I don't believe in war, but there really was no other choice....what do you think?

Slinging, long enough to give THANKS to :1. The Veterans, living and gone; 2. Those who sacrificed their health to build a free, prosperous, educated America, 3. That which we do own, 4. Living in a 'relatively' safe country, 5. Having the right to enjoy a 'good / filling meal'.??
Will You stop, for just a few hours, all of the "Finger Pointing"?

Cons take it as gospel truth, but the facts prove otherwise.

HERE'S WHAT I DID:
I got the real GDP stats from the Bureau of Economic Analyses. I took the percent increase over 4 year intervals. I then ranked them from best to worst. Out of (((18))) 4 year intervals, the supply siders Reagan and Bush Jr ranked 8th, 12th, and 16th.

1 FDR (40') 74.69%
2 FDR (32') 34.62%
3 LBJ (64') 21.81%
4 TRUMAN (48') 21.00%
5 JFK (60') 19.86%
6 FDR (36') 19.32%
7 CLINTON (96')17.87%
8 REAGAN (84') 15.98%
9 CARTER (76') 13.67%
10 CLINTON (92')13.53%
11 IKE (52') 13.45%
12 REAGAN (80') 12.63%
13 NIXON (68') 12.38%
14 IKE (56') 10.91%
15 FORD (72') 10.62%
16 BUSH JR (00')9.03%
17 BUSH SR (88')8.81%
18 TRUMAN (44') -9.04%

EXAMPLE CALCULATION

1996, 8,328.90 inflation adjusted billions of dollars
2000, 9,817.00 inflation adjusted billions of dollars

PERCENT CHANGE = (9817.0/8328.9 - 1.0)*100.0 = 17.87%

When Hillary is forced to devalue the dollar, and to attempt to repay the national debt, who will pay, who should pay?

I propose a tax on all those who voted for Bush!

The stock response to any suggestion that the people are entitled to do business as a collective action seems to be that such a thing would be socialism. When even such a committed capitalist as Hillary Clinton suggests it, the word is used. Do any of you red baiters know the difference between liberalism, social democracy, socialism and communism, or are you so far to the right you can't tell the difference from there?

For example, public health care is denounced as socialism, yet every other industrialized democracy in the world practices it. Are they all socialists, or are American conservatives so politically ignorant they can't understand the difference?

Before you condemn such collective action by the public, bear in mind that we already operate the armed forces, post office and education systems this way. It cannot be wrong by definition. Conservatives are not anarchists.

Last night I watched FOX NEWS. The O'reilly show.
With Laura, talk show radio girl, as host. Talk about
spin. The Republicans are in denial that the state of
the BUSH ADMINISTRATION, is in turmoil. 12 years
in the Senate, and that's all, you guys can do.
Democrats had it for 30 long years, and also the only
president to be in the WHITE HOUSE for almost 20
years. Incredible. America, has shown so much love
for the Left, and they will do it again, in 2008.
It is a hard pill to swallow, but swallow it. Clinton will
save the day. Then things will go back to normal.
Great economy, lower gas prices, public service funds,
domestic security, foreclosure protection, job security,
and higher wages for the American worker ! And lower
crime, too. So is it me, or are Republicans just
brainwashed ? Best answer wins. :)
