Life, or choice... i'm not sure. i believe certain curcumstances such as rape and death to the mother should be allowed. i dont believe anyone should do it but i really dont feel it should be made illegal either, because people would still find a way to do it. i do believe if it is done it should only be allowed up to maybe the second month of pregnancy. the second month is still late but to account for appointment and so on. something more like the morning after pill should be taken instead.. anyone who is into their pregnancy and then decides to have an abortion, that is murder plain and simple. look at some of the pictures of late term abortions, you actually see thousands of little baby body parts lying in a pile behind a clinic in the garbage. actual arms, legs, heads with eyes, nose and mouth. who is to say that child did not feel the pain of being ripped apart by a vacuum. and why after you are showing and obviously people know you are pregnant would you decide then, lets just kill it... come on, why not just give the child a loving adoptive family. i dont get it.

NOBODY is pro-abortion. Some of us think abortions are occasionally a good idea, and in those cases it is the woman, her family, her husband or boyfriend, and her doctor who should decide, not the govt.
Actually, politicians, religious leaders and the media like to portray this issue as if it was a fence and everyone was on one side or the other. But in fact it is a line a continuum, between two extremes, and most of us are somewhere in the middle.
The 'official' Christian position was that abortions should be allowed only in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the health (not necessarily the life) of the mother. Today the standard has changed, it is only danger to the -life- of the mother. So even the Religious Right has moved on the issue, further towards the right end of the spectrum.
This issue was 'designed' by the Republican Party to bring Christians into the party in 1980 to elect Ronald Reagan. In the previous election they had voted Democratic, for Jimmy Carter, because he was himself a sincere Christian and his sister was a famous evangelist. But for nearly 30 years now the party has managed the issue for votes, not for life. Seven Republican Supreme Court appointments later, Roe v. Wade has not been overturned. There has been no constitutional amendment proposed to define the pre-born as 'human beings', as Reagan promised in the 1980 campaign. All they've done is to pass laws against one particular extremely rare late-term abortion technique, and even those laws were intentionally so vaguely worded as to be struck down by the courts.
That's why we talk about 'pro-life' and 'pro-choice' and 'pro-abortion' and 'anti-choice'; it's simpler than discussing the issue in real terms.

Pro-choice, but not pro-abortion.
I was grateful I had a choice (both times), but personally I could not have had an abortion.

Personally I am pro-life but I also realize that I do not have the right to tell someone else what she can do with her body and her fetus. There are many things in life one must learn to live with although we don't like it. I have learned to live with the spector of abortion although it goes against my beliefs. I would like it if everyone believed as I do but that is impractical so I accept reality and that abortion exists. It is better to have it done, if it must be done, in a clean, well staffed clinic rather than a dark, dirty alley with a coat hanger.

im really split by this actually. i think abortion is totally wrong and unethical whether you are religious or not unless maybe it is a rape baby or the mother's life is in jeopardy. but, most of the women that get abortions are totally stupid, irresponsible people that will have a high probability of being bad parents, and kids often turn out like the parents so maybe it is mercy killing and its a good thing that we dont have more stupid people making the same mistakes in 20 years.
