Please read the below quote from former Chief of Staff at the New York Times. He gave this speech at the prestigious NY Press Club. He was considered the "Dean of his Profession" by those who knew him;

" There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history, as an independent press. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone. The business of the journalist is to destroy the truth; to lie outright; to pervert;

You get my point...why do this if all was well???

after reading quite a bit about it...pro and con...it seems to me it's real and coming soon. Fuel shortages or high prices, fuel siphoning, food shortages due to high delivery costs, economic effects, etc. So my question is, where do you want to be when the **** hits the fan?

You do realize that during the University of Texas, civilians got out their hunting rifles and returned fire on the sniper. No doubt their actions saved a few lives. One of the civilians was even deputized and was part of the assault on the tower which ended when Mr.Whitman was killed. If some of the VT students had been armed there is no telling how many lives would have been saved!

he and 3 or 4 friends jumped up on your airplane and wanted to take control of the plane and the only weapons they had were cheap drugstore box cutter with one inch blades (blades by the way that only come half an inch out of the handle)?

How many of the other passengers do you think would fight as well?

Do you really think the US gov had nothing to do with it?

It is clear that they want us to believe Israel have the right to invade lands and posses WMD.
It is clear that they want us to believe that Islam and catholicism are wrong.
It is clear that they don't want to face the fact we lost war on drugs and war on Indians!
It is clear that they want to criminalize undocumented immigrants and ignore corruption in the U.S side.
It is clear that they want us to believe that Bush is doing well and that republicans are conservatives despite they act so liberal!

which is better? a socialist govt, where the rich are made to help the poor, or a capitalist govt where the poor are made to help the rich?
Another view is -
Socialist european countries have more leisure time & health benifits than anywhere in the world, but earn less money.Work to live.
Capitalist america earn more money to buy all sorts of luxury goods but have no social health care system and work long hours. Live to work.

Which do you think is better? being rich? or being happy?

I understand the issue of Hilary but would we as a nation be more lenient toward a woman who didn't have initial contact with the whitehouse or someone who didn't come across as a threat to the way of life we have tried so hard to keep from getting shaken up?

I wish that poverty, famine, greed, and war were all elimated and we all lived in a peaceful world where everyone was treated equally. I'm sick of this world. It is unfair to so many people. People all across the world are starving and in dire need of help, while too many people in the Western world have too much money. If we pay everyone the same throughout the world, that would be ideal. Unfortuantely that won't happen and doesn,t it disgust you that certain people have too much money and use it only for their personal merit? Why are we, as humans, so greedy? Doesn't anyone wish they could chance this corrupt world?
