What are they doing now?

I knew of one who was in my younger sister's class. She's a clerk at a pawn shop and Chairman of the Republican Party in our county.

I'm the only liberal in my family and the only one with a college degree. Many conservatives in the small town I'm from tend to be blue collar workers. I try not to live by stereotypes as there are educated people on both sides of the aisle.

My family is mostly conservative, plus I know a few, though I know plenty of libs and kooks, as well.

The conservatives I know include engineers, programmers, stay-at-home moms, retirees, a used car salesman, a realtor, and an economics proffessor. All graduated high school, most graduated college, one has an advanced degree.

The liberals I know personally include public-school teachers, video game testers, chronically unemployed slackers, health care workers, tech writers, local TV personalities, a florist and a buyer. All graduated highschool, most graduated college, a couple have advanced degrees.

I live in San Jose, you can't get arrested in this town without a college degree, so I doubt that's representative.

Actually, now that I think of it, the most notable difference is that none of my liberal acquiantances are married (a few are divorced) or have chldren, while most of the conservatives I know are married, some with children or grandchildren.

I'm a conservative. I graduated high school with the equivalent of an associate's degree in Chemistry. I entered the Navy as an enlisted man and, after thirteen years, received a commission from the President and retired in the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Since my Naval retirement I've sought elective office twice without success.
I learned that one becomes a conservative when he has something to conserve. I've also learned that the neo-elitists who try to look down on conservatives don't have the foggiest idea of what they speak.

I am conservative on many issues. I have graduated high school with a 4.4 GPA. I currently have a 3.6 or 3.7 in college now while Im on the wrestling team there too. Im not sure if I want to tackle law school or not, depending on which way God leads me. Maybe you consider trusting my fate in God to be dumb. I dont know. I have learned hard lessons recently and He seems to know whats going on. I do want to go into politics one day and take out as much corruption as I can. Hopefully you dont consider that dumb. I know Clinton and Edwards probably do, since they help contribute to it.

I know several and I am one of them. Not only a high school grad, I served in a highly technical field in the armed forces for 20 years and at the moment install wiring on 737 airliners. I have gotten further than a lot of people that dropped out and are now dependant on government handouts for support.

They're doing the same thing most of us are doing; watching others use political bigotry as a way to shore up their failing self-images.

So are most of the patriotic democrats like myself.

Some of us don't hate half the country.
Some of us don't need to.

Oh, we disagree on some things, but we disagree.

We don't use playground tactics.

We hope you'll join us. You'd be welcome.

Most Republicans I knew from H.S. are doing very well.

Most Democrats I know are still working at the same dead end job they had back then.
