it is a plant placed on earth by God
it was a plant criminalized by billionaire William Hearst's lobby because he saw hemp as a threat to his paper lumber monopoly - period
there are references in the Bible to Moses using "caneb bohm" (or some such spelling?) which judaic scholars now acknowledge was cannabis - and some debate whether one of the "wise men" even brought some to the birth of Christ
sharks can kill people who interact with them in irrational ways - why aren't sharks illegalized? strawberries can kill some who consume them. Why not illegalize strawberries? Nettles can cause extreme discomfort - should we criminalize possession of nettles?
I can't think of a more astonishingly stupid, and essentially blasphemous, thing than illegalizing something that is of nature, of God
I'm not talking about cocaine, heroin, meth... those were all created by MAN - more specifically by PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES for sale on the MASS MARKET - Coca~Cola originally had cocaine as an ingredient for crying out loud
- yet we've never heard of pharmaceutical company representatives going to prison do we? and it's these same PharmCo's that continue to spew out medication after medication that proves to be horrendously dangerous (Vioxx, Ritalin, etc.) yet still no persecutorial charge against a single PharmaCo.
but regardless of that - it is utterly beyond logic and understanding to "illegalize" something created and put on earth by God
on top of that: the Declaration of Independence and Constitution are both on hemp paper (basically the non-potent brother of "marijuana"), hemp was utilized during WWII to help us win the war - hemp has been a functional and essential resource for humans since, well as far back as we've uncovered, basically
but that wasn't good enough for the lumber lobby to cram through anti-American legislation during a time of "commie-scare" mania and black-list it as some sort of nefarious substance
blasphemous, ridiculous, fiscally and judiciously unsound policy, a waste of law enforcement resources -
need I continue?

You have a report on why Marijuana should be leagalized but you have NO FACTS on why it should be? HMMMM.. perhaps you are a prime example why it SHOULDN'T be!!! It kills brain cells and leads to more harmful habits. Although it's not as bad for you as cigarettes or drinking Pop it does however usually lead to more harmful drug habits. It also alters your perception of what's going on around you.

1) A good documentary is called "Grass", narrated by Woody Harrelson. It talks about why pot was picked on from the beginning, and why government representatives waged wars against it, without any medical test ever showing that it has a truly negative effect on the body like alcohol or tobacco.
2) By treating pot like a hard, damaging and addictive drug like coke, youth try pot anyway, realize that the media made a big deal about if for no reason, that it's NOT dangerous. And so, when they are offered crack some time, odds are they will say to themselves "Well they didn't know a thing about pot and said it was dangerous...they don't know jack. I bet they're wrong about crack too" and they try crack or speed or whatever.
Because if pot is just as bad as crack, as the media portrays it to be, then youth will be less afraid of garbage like crack and speed after smoking pot with no ill effects.
Instead, start having commercials against speed, coke, crack, smack and E.

Should have been decriminalized long ago. The gov't views it as a drug, so it's a reason for them to keep the "drug war" going. Study Prohibition, if you haven't already, it's the same story, different substance. All Prohibition did was turn people into criminals, cost the taxpayers a bundle for the enforcement and then the prisons, caused crime and gun violence to rise sky high. See any similarities?

Hmm let's see now,
On Friday night, I'd rather see stoned mellow people in town rather than angry drunks all over the place.
The fact that the plant itself can be used to make paper, rope, various medicines, and can be grown easily without the need for chemicals to aid it.
The fact that it is more cost effective to give people who are in pain ganj, rather than spending money on pharmaceutical drugs that have limited effects and high costs
As for lies, look at the 1930's-1940's government media campaigns which tried to persuade people that ganja is addictive and will lead people on the path to madness, disease etc Search on google under "reefer madness" that might help

Look its not as safe as drinking a pop. I will say this it is not more dangerous than having a cock tail. The best reason is that the government can then tax it. It would also open up a lot of jail cells and it would create jobs that have been lost by the tobacco industry.

ROFLMAO! Almost as safe as drinking a pop or safer???? Where did you get that crap? That is HILLARIOUS!
As for reasons...there is NO good reason to decriminalize it. From someone who used to smoke it, and have tried other drugs, I would not "decriminalize" ANY drug.
Your lack of ability to complete a sentence or rational thought is pretty good evidence that pot should not be legal.
Edit: Alzheimers??? You gotta be kidding! POT DECREASES MEMORY! It is like self inflicted alzheimers. As for being safer than pop. That is put forth by people who are stoned hoping that others will believe them. As for who overdoses on THC...you are right. I do, however, know 2 people who drove off a cliff (one car) because they were too stoned to make the turn, and 2 people (separate instances) who thought it would be cool to play with a gun while stoned...WHO NEEDS OVERDOSE???
Get real. The only reasons to legalize are those put forth by those who are stoned out of their heads...kind of like you.
