Yet, the dems want more social programs run by the government and increased taxes--money to be spent by the government...I don't understand.

How do democrats and republicans differ; except for the fact that they like to argue with each other?

Legalize Marijuana and tax the hell out of it.
This way all you conservatives won't have to shell out any money AND you get free health care.
No thanks necessary.

Here are a few of mine...

John Kerry: American soldiers are “terrorizing Iraqi women and children.”

Jack Murtha: American Marines have “killed innocent civilians in cold blood.”

Dick Durban: Things that American Solders had done things to prisoners in their control was like “ Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others — that had no concern for human beings”.

B. Hussein Obama: American Military is "just air raiding villages and killing civilians"

Chuck Schumer: "And let me be clear, the violence in Anbar has gone down despite the surge, not because of the surge. The inability of American soldiers to protect these tribes from al Qaeda said to these tribes we have to fight al Qaeda ourselves. It wasn't that the surge brought peace here. It was that the warlords took peace here, created a temporary peace here. And that is because there was no one else there protecting."

The conservative reactions to the question linked here - from a school kid! - demonstrate that Reagan's "welfare queen" is still the way to monger doubt. Perspective and intent be damned, it would appear...

Do you turn all questions into an attack on Bush, or Hillary, or the "other" party in general?
Do you justify misconduct in YOUR party(or the party you identify with more, even if your not registered as a dem or rep) with examples in the other party?
Do you think WE should expect more from our leaders on BOTH sides, or do we spend too much focusing on differences, and not enough time on common ground?

Thanks.

According to the CBO estimates in order to pay for the Schip program expansion 22 million more people must start smoking within the next 6 years.

They also have said that the arguement that says the program is paid for is flawed because that estimate assumes that in the next 6 years 6 million people will be moved OFF the program. I dont seem to remember ANY social program that has ever been decreased.

In other words...we currently have two governmentally approved warring factions within our political puppet show...Democrats (libs) vs. Republicans (cons). If the government was taken over by the current Republican Party, and they cooked all the Democrats in death camps, would all of the people suddenly become the model citizens that all of the "family values" right wingers want to see...or would the party quickly divide itself into another animal?

In China everything belongs to the state. Everything are given by the state and may be taken away anytime the state see fit.

In China there is nothing as private property. The people can't buy and sell things as they want or even choses what they want to have.

So do they use money there? If so how does it work?

With Democratic Congressman Pete Stark of California
relating of cutting off of heads for Bush's amusement, is this one of those comments that indeed needs an apology to the citizens and American troops? The Democrats seem to be getting good at blurting out these amazing degrading words from their mouths. Representatives in D.C. never used to say
things like this in public. They don't seem to care anymore.
