It is absolutely true. One might be expected to be an idealist when they are young. Common sense and logic come into play as you live and interact in the real adult world.......

Nope. All the liberals I know are in their 40s up to their 70s. Brains are still connected. Some of the responses here seem angry to you? The quote is very insulting. Like if I said most Conservatives are war mongering, bloodthirsty, pilfering buttheads they may get angry and feel insulted. Isn't that what you were trying to achieve to begin with? Insulting liberals?

No. I have liberal friends that think I am a conservative and conservative friends that think I am a bleeding heart. Funny I am neither I love to provoke a response.
I have a quote for you " Opinions are like A--holes, Everybody has one."

Nah... Winston Churchill was a great man and had great quotes but he isn't God.
BTW, I am not a liberal; I just understand why some people over 20 years of age are liberals... and I'm okay with it. Different points of view make us a better nation.

It's true for some people, in some societies.
But as we give away our civil liberties, our rights under the Bill of Right, we will discover that
"A liberal is a conservation who has been arrested".

That was a quote that was probably falsely attributed to Winston Churchill.
I like this one:
A liberal is a conservative who's been arrested. A conservative is a liberal who's been mugged.

Conservatism in today's America requires one to accept as true that which is not, mainly that everyone in this country has the equal opportunities they are supposed to have. Accepting this allows conservatives to believe that taxing the upper tier to the proportion of their control of society's wealth is wrong, and that programs to ensure that everyone gets an equal chance are also wrong. Thus, to be a conservative today either requires one to believe something that is untrue, which does not speak well to one's intelligence, or to know it isn't true and support it anyway, which doesn't speak well to one's heart.
And why do you say that we would only react to this with passion (I didn't see much anger, really), if we knew it was true? If you had said that all liberals were cannibals who ate children, would our angry reactions indicate that we believed your statement?

I see it shown each and each of the time. once you start up working and paying taxes that others make the main of and do devoid of your self, then in spite of the reality which you may desire to be charitable, you want it to be to those of your very own identifying on. In different words you connect the genuine worldwide and enhance up. whilst you're smart sufficient to be conserative at 20 then you definately can bypass circulate and get carry of a "get out of penitentiary" card loose.

Yup, pretty true. (Unfortunately, I'm not even 20 yet, and I've been a conservative as long as I can remember. Damn.)
