NOPE America does not and should not have any national religion.

Maybe it's time for individuals to adopt a religion that wasn't invented by savage barbarians. But I feel it's all a matter of opinion on who one would consider a savage barbarian.

It's never time for America to adopt a religion.

Check the 1st amendment to the Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion; or prohibiting the free exercise therof;"

What that means is that the government must keep it's nose out of religion, and must not establish a state religion.

So, America shouldn't adopt anything in relation to religion.

I am an Atheist who thinks Christianity is a cause of a large amount of suffering in the world and especially America and American Christians will be one of the most likely cause for the end of the world. I have to disagree though it was not invented by barbarians it was in fact a product of some of the most civilized cultures and civilizations in the world 1900 years ago.

Dear Babby, Nobody triggered ME to dig deeper. Because I'm free to think on my own and don't follow a Guidebook on how to live, I learn about life, purpose and existence on my own, in my own time, any way I choose. I don't waste my life praying to my ceiling, or going to a place where everybody else goes. Nobody judges me to be a "good secular thinker" or a "bad secular thinker." I don't worry about going to a torture place after I'm dead and gone. I don't have to tithe to a "collection plate." I don't have to memorize whole paragraphs from the Guidebook to show off to other people. I'm moral because I choose to be, not because I'm afraid to get "whacked" by the Big Kahuna. I don't bash anyone either. I just ask questions and defend my stance. Eye for an eye, eh?

every religion was created by barbarians...the ideals of democracy and humanism were developed by civilized people like the Greeks (although they did create some religions themselves, they were growing out of them at about the time of Christ...they had many academic discussions on humanism, but many many of them needed a God, that's why there are Orthodox Greek Christians).

THe best religion would be to worship Earth and to protect it and not worry about a god from space that rules us through bribery and fear. that is if I had to choose, but would rarther have no religion invading logic in our government or laws

Isn't this a question for Religion and Culture rather than Politics?

But to answer your question, in America, we have freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of religion. Everyone can choose to believe or not believe what makes sense to them personally.

It would be so boring if everyone believed the same thing! I was raised Jewish, my husband was raised Lutheran, some of his siblings have become Catholic, one of my best friends is Muslim and another of my best friends is Atheist. Everyone is free to believe what makes sense to them.

Seriously, though: we didn't adopt a national religion in the first place.
