Americans are not opposed to idealists, the problem is idealists come in so many different ideals. This country was made up by idealists. Read some Patrick Henry. Go back to the library and read about the American Revolution. The guys who wrote the constitution were radicals in their day. Radicals are idealists. Our forefathers were not happy with the norm at the time so they created their own country. We come from that but forget it regularly.
