After their tenure in office Nixon wrote books, Ford played golf, Reagan, well, he was sick soon after he left office, Bush, the other won, hunkered down in Maine. Carter has spent the balance of his career helping hundreds of causes, Clinton established a vital world reknown Aids organization and encouraged America's youth to become involved, Gore, an activist for conservation. Um, why do you think there is such a vast difference in how ACTIVE on behalf of causes Democrats are when compared to Republicans?

OSLO, Norway -- The head of the committee that awarded Jimmy Carter the Nobel Peace Prize said the selection of the former U.S. president "must be seen" as a swipe at current Washington policy on Iraq.

Does being a communist automatically make you a thug? Was Saint Paul a Thug when he suggested communism to the first Christian Communities? (They were to all put all their moneys into the church, then redistribute it evenly throughout the community)
I'm not a communist, because Communism doesn't work. It works as well as corporate-fascism. (Fascism by definition is corporate and government connection) The best system is the American system of Regulated Capitalism. (Not lawless capitalism, but our great corporations following the law)
If Nelson Mandela was a communist, and this is what he believed, however wrong, does this make him a thug, like some reicht-wingers would say? Should the peace he fought for be ignored? I hadn't realized so many American right-wingers were pro Apartheid.

You know, like Barry Bonds' and Mark McGuire's name in the Baseball record book because of the steroid use. Gore's movie has so many inaccuracies that it has to start with a disclaimer when it's shown to students in Great Britain. I read that there's at least 11 proven lies in the movie so, will Fat Albert's name have that asterisk next to it, indicating that there's a problem? I also have to wnder if he's going to fly his carbon-belching private jet to Stockholm to pick up his "prize".

Why do people bash him the way they do now? He handled the Iran hostage crisis perfectly by not invading, face it, there were less than 50 americans there. He raised taxes to feel the poor and the starving illegals. He put the pay for military and Govt employees at the bottom of his agenda to support the rest of the country like he SHOULD HAVE! He did everything a model president should have. He did everything with perfection.
