The judge actually supported the film. Read the full decision. Available here:

http://groups.google.com/group/alt.global-warming/msg/87ffb8db671bf175?

The plaintiffs asked that the film be banned. The judge denied them and said it could be shown provided that it was explained that SOME things in the film were political, something necessary because of strict English laws. He specifically found that:

"The following is clear: i) [the movie] is substantially founded upon scientific research"

"These propositions [that global warming is mostly due to man, is dangerous, and can be fixed by man], Mr Chamberlain submits (and I accept), are supported by a vast quantity of research published in peer-reviewed journals worldwide and by the great majority of the world’s climate scientists."

"It is clear that the Defendant understandably formed the view that AIT was an outstanding film, and that schools should be enabled to show it to pupils."

"I have no doubt that Dr Stott, the Defendant's expert, is right when he says that: "Al Gore's presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change in the film was broadly accurate."

There were some relatively minor points the judge found inadequate proof for (not that they were wrong), but the full decision makes it clear he found the film basically correct. As do scientists.

I have that British ruling in front of me as I type.
- the film's basic premise that the planet is over heating due to certain excessive human activities and that this entails danger for mankind is acceptable
.
- the documentary is approved for showing in ALL British schools as part of the environmental education program

-a suggestion was made that 9 points were EXAGERATED , in that they could lead one to understand that some results of global warming are much more imminent than in fact they have so far proved to be

The judge's conclusion is that in general the film is correct and suitable for distribution to schools..

The film has not been banned and no mention is made of lying or incompetence. An excess of zeal is attributed to Gore, not inadecuacy.

Sorry guys. Tough luck.

I doubt it. Al Gore will discover some lame excuse as to why it truly is politically inspired. he will likely get the Nobel Peace prize. Al Gore is a Hypocrite. His relatives changed into once contained in the Oil agency and at the same time as that became politically incorrect... He invented this scheme of creating human beings experience in charge for causing what's actual organic fluctuations in Earth's temperature. i understand one component... i'm drained of having "eco-friendly Guilt".

So if Gore movie must make up for any errors in facts does before it could go to schools, does that mean that all the history books has to do the same for the entire Bush administartion.

If you are referring to the case brought before the High Court in London, then this is not true.

The judge did not rule that there were any lies whatsoever, this is simply mendacious reporting.

The judge ruled that additional guidelines were required on certain disputed points, in order to comply with the Education Act (1996) for allowing the film to be shown in schools.

Mr Justice Burton did not rule that there were any "lies" in the film. This is just wrong.

Not at all. Go read the list of supposed "errors." None of the judges accusations stand up. Gore's film and presentation are accurate.

This s"judge" is not a qualified scientist--and the fact that he paraded some pseudo-scientist "skeptics" through his courtroom is irrelevant. The information Gore presented is factual. The parts that involved hypothetecial possibilities were presented as jsut that --hypotheses.

I would think after this many years she would be used to it. What I find shameful is how many teachers, politicians, and other morons in public will continue to use him as a reference for anything other than what not to be when you grow up. Just look at the idiots on the nobel committee. once again truth and honesty does not matter, only getting you way even in the face of the truth.

Error = Lie?

Does this mean that Bush lied us into war?

That should be much more grave than what Gore is doing, right?
