Young black kid died after receiving a beating which made him unconcious and then he died a day later because of a undiagnosed blood disorder. The kid was a juvenile offender in a florida police military style boot camp to correct him. the guards and nurses were not guilty for manslaughter in the trial today.

My question is how can it be legal for florida to run a boot camp for juvenile offenders and BEAT the JUVENILES and its legal yet during my military days, when I was in boot camp (2002) the real military, the training instructors are not allowed to lay a hand on you without your permission, let alone hitting you?

amazing, your educated thoughts? what is wrong here.

Why is this necessary? Shouldn't this be left up to the parents to check out at a doctor, not the school?

Is it morally wrong to spend money you don't have and expect your children to pay for it?

Every generation should pay for what it spends. It should be that simple.

Instead, every time a "fiscal conservative" Republican like Reagan and Bush Jr gets elected, they engage in huge deficit spending like there is no tomorow.

Yassar Arafats "peace" was very consistent with the teachings of the "religion of peace" (Quran 9:29 - Fight everyone who doesnt believe in Islam).

Al Gore's peacefully blamed America for a phenomena which the National Academy of Sciences said was potentially "less than 1% contributed by mankind".

Considering that all Americans (right and left) rallied against cholorflorcarbons when it wasnt politicized, one is left to ask "How unified would the world be, with respect to Global Warming, if Al Gore didnt politicize the issue, blame anyone in particular, tag on pet leftist issues, insert pathetic leftist morality into the debate, and just sought bi-partisan recogniztion, as with the chloroflorcarbons crisis?"

Would all of you big Rush Limbaugh fans be bashing the Nobel Peace Prize if your beloved Rush had won it? Or would you be bragging?

without firing one shot denied it, if it is so great an honor? I think the board of the Nobel are a bunch of liberals who must only honor their own.

Why do we have to compensate for the grievances our ancestors committed by committing reverse discrimination in our affirmative action policy? It's absurd! Why can't we just get over it and STOP LIVING IN THE PAST?

Congress will not even attempt to "defund" the War in Iraq because of the political fallout. Was yesterdays vote on the Armenian Genocide question really an attempt to pis**ff the Turks enough that they would not allow us to use their supply routes and air routes into Iraq to supply our troops, therefore, in essence, forcing our government to pullout of Iraq?

If it was, I think Congress is a bunch of cowardly, sleezeballs!!!

I mean, it is clear that American grasp of nuclear power is already far beyond control. I think we certainly have the capabilities of "taking over the word." When do you think they will do it? Will it happen? What will happen to the citizens once they do?

The most frequent alternative explanation people offer for the current warming goes like this:

'The planet has warmed before. There were no humans or SUVs around then. Therefore, the current warming is just a natural cycle'.

Ignoring the logical fallacies with this argument, let's just look at the data. Here is a graph showing the natural (Milankovitch) cycles of the Earth:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Milankovitch_Variations.png

Notice that these cycles occur over thousands of years, not rapid changes over a few decades or centuries. On top of that:

"An often-cited 1980 study by Imbrie and Imbrie determined that 'Ignoring anthropogenic and other possible sources of variation acting at frequencies higher than one cycle per 19,000 years, this model predicts that the long-term cooling trend which began some 6,000 years ago will continue for the next 23,000 years.'"

Considering this evidence, do you agree that the current warming is not due to natural cycles?

Turkey is an important strategic ally, especially while troops are in Iraq..

Gates said good relations with Turkey are vital because 70 percent of the air cargo intended for U.S. forces in Iraq and 30 percent of the fuel consumed by those forces flies through Turkey.

U.S. commanders, Gates said, "believe clearly that access to airfields and roads and so on in Turkey would very much be put at risk if this resolution passes and the Turks react as strongly as we believe they will."

Please dont tell they are pushing so hard to undermine our troops..

In the light of hard evidence(and an increasingly dumbed-down America which has virtually NO concept of real math and science), a public opinion poll is about as valid as asking Kindergardeners if they want a second run on milke and cookies.

Thank you for all those people who went into the soft-majors at schools over the past 30 years...a six-figure salary as a real engineer due to the fact of generation X,Y, Z can't read, write, or figure out a percentage in sales tax make me even more valuable in the market(and shaking my head on the Dads/Moms of these new "progressive" generations who made incredibly poor parents).

to explain Mercury's motion around the sun?

Cons like to downplay the significance of the scientific concensus on the theories of evolution, the big bang, and man made global warming, because they think "theory" means hypothesis.

In addition, plenty of them think a "law" is superior to a "theory", but the fact is Einstein's (((THEORY))) of relativity supercedes Newton's "laws" of motion. Einstein's theory applies at regular speeds and speeds approaching the speed of light.
