After all, you guys think that everything 50+ years ago should be forgotten. So I guess that applies to the Holocaust too?

At least be consistent.

I think all genocides are bad. Whether by Saddam or in Sudan or whereever. I don't set my principles aside to appease falsehood.

You Americans have just revived the concentration camp and the Iraqi freedom fighter is well awear of where he is going if and when caught. Concentration camps are evil, torture is evil and yet it appears that no lessons have been learned from the second world war.

Apparently its against your constitution to have such camps on American soil but it seems OK to spread them around the globe in countries such as Cuba. Apparently even the Cubans are aghast at the Evil that is being done in these camps.

You mention the Holocaust, do you know what? considering the play time the Jews give to the Holocaust, I cant help wondering why there has not been one murmour from the Jewish community condeming such a revival. The Jewish Community has fallen down a ethical ladder and in the process has broke its backbone. Concentration camps are wrong period. Jewish Community you are no better than those who interned you forfathers in the German camps.

All concentration camps and the idea of such camps must be destroyed and those in the Jewish community that had members of their family interned in such camps should speak out and stand up and be counted.

Edit Pluto:

OK then speak out against America's revival of the concentration camp, tell me why it's alright to set up torture camps in off shore positions in other countries? Why was it wrong for Hitler but OK for America to build camps for the sole pupose of torturing, beating, prison without trial etc.

Pluto. It's too bad you are so interested in putting our troops in danger by egging the Turks on to go into Iraq after the Kurds. That's the only reason this is an important topic right now. To thwart our diplomatic efforts at keeping Turkey from invading Iraq.
Acknowledging a genocide of 100 years ago is a bit late to save lives. I wonder if you were so enthusiastic to acknowledge the genocide perpetrated by Saddam when it could have prevented more... or Darfur, Kosovo, Rwanda.
Act now to prevent Genocide!
Stop poking a stick into a hornets nest that will put our troops in danger.

Although there might have been an Armenian genocide, the saying goes, "Good friends help hide the bodies." That's why it hasn't been really brought up by the NATO allies. Turkey use to be an important ally, but now it's bashed by western Europe and U.S. government officals on a regular bases.

Agreed.

While we're at it, we should remember the thousands (possibly millions) of Irish and Scottish people who were killed and/or repressed by the British crown for many centuries as well.

Well you see, that's different. Its different because those were Israelis being mass murdered.

HOW CRAZY DOES THAT SOUND?

Any group of unarmed civilians being wiped out is a horrible thing.

Lots of people back then got killed. What about it?

There have been mass killings since people first got together to form cities and there will be mass killings after we are all dead and gone.
