there is an illegal alien on death row in Texas for raping and murdering 2 teenage girls.
the International Court and George W Bush want a re-trial.
The state of Texas says the President doesn't have this authority.
Does that sound like a true conservative? What about when he pushed to sell some of our own ports to a company based in Dubai? Or the fact that he did not veto one bill until the democrats had the majority in congress? Spending has been out of control, the government is bloated. Not at all a true conservative. Amnesty for illegal immigrants, more and more power to the executive branch.

I do not believe that anyone is true conservative or true liberal, each title really represents how they view themselves "Most" of the time.
I view myself as an right leaning Independent conservative but I do not always agree with everything, every once in awhile a liberal will say things that I agree with.
George W, is not the conservative that he was when running in 2000, I opposed his support of the Immigration Reform Act and I think he needs to change the rules of engagement with respect to the Iraq war. He does stand firm on what he says that he will do. I have noticed a slight left leaning GWB since the last election, perhaps that is to get some of the things done that he wanted to get completed.
You are right though, GWB is a lot better than either Al Gore or John Kerry would have been.

I really don't think so. Sometimes he seems like it, most times he does not act very conservative. His actions sure do make you wonder....Nevertheless, President Bush IS head and shoulders above the 2 Democrats he defeated on '00 and '04. The Supreme Court and other judges that he nominated are one good thing for him.
Now I wish we could get Ruth Bader Ginsberg off the Supreme Court!!!! (Chief Justice) Roy Moore would be a
Most Excellent replacement !!!

No, Bush is not a true conservative. He is far too middle of the roaf for that. He is not fiscaly conservative and he seems to favor growing rather than shrinking government. To get a truely conservative point of view, listen to Ron Paul. You can also go back to the speeches of Barry Goldwater. It is not really Bush's fault. He and many other Republicans were fooled into thginking Reagan was a conservative and they followed in his path.

no, he's not. here's why: he took us from the biggest economic surplus (yes, s.s. wasn't in any danger) and brought us into the largest deficit in history. do you call that conservative??? do you know what conservative means? i mean, lets forget about the war for one second (thats a whole other mess) and just focus on the economics of his presidency. our nation's real estate market is dropping on an avg. of 17% annually, there are more forclosure risks out there in the history of our nation. meanwhile, our president is spending $13 million/hour spreading democracy? ok, maybe this is getting a bit confusing for you. how about you go back to school, find a book called "websters dictionary" and look-up "conservative". then you can answer your own idiotic question so you don't have to take up precious server space!

numerous human beings were nominated the first time round, it had not something to do with Bush... he changed into one among a handful. the 2d time... it truly is exceptionally lame to appoint yet another candidate for a sitting president. the dems must have finished that for Jimmy Carter, they could have pulled off that election in the journey that they did. Bush nominated Conservative SCOTUS human beings, that changed into actual sturdy. He has morals and that is sturdy. he's somewhat slack on some issues, yet he boxed himself into that. he changed into boxed into the Iraq warfare, and that exceptionally nicely paralyzed his presidency thereafter. he tried to be Conservative and went after employers of illegals in 2006, yet he did not have the familiar public help to uphold those guidelines on the books. He turned right into a Conservative, yet because he boxed himself in.... He had to slip right down to being type of wishy washy in a way. notwithstanding, he DID save US threat-free, AND HIS coverage maintains to save US threat-free 2 YEARS AFTER HE LEFT workplace. .

Looking at the movement towards fascism that has occured under Bush's watch, and all of the messes he has created internationally and domestically, one could hardly call him a conservative.
The only conserving that happened was the greater concentration of greater wealth into fewer hands. I am not too pleased with his having stolen 2 elections either.

No, he is not half the conservative JFK was in the 60's. He believes in conservative ideals, but not when it comes to money. The only conservative thing he did was the tax cuts which helped all the working people. Bet the Democrats wont make them permanent.

Yes.
He cut taxes, engaged in huge deficit spending, and is forcing religion on government with his faith based initiative and opposition to stem cell research.
