You like him because you were not hurt by him. Many of the people of the United States and other countries have been hurt by him, needlessly. I could go on about the fact that he:
1. Was originally "elected" under shady circumstances,
2. Uses religion as a platform to get the Christians to vote for him,
3 Denies education money to students,
4. Denies aid to children,
5. Has gotten the US into a violent war that most of the people did not want, filled with innocent victims,
6. Has devalued the US dollar by at least 30%. This means if a person makes one dollar, he is really only making seventy cents.
7. Made a terrible thing like the Sept. 11 attacks into his own personal Iraq agenda,
8. Has made other people from other countries ask me why I voted for him (they don't realize that about half the country DID NOT want this man for president),
9. Has made people from other countries call the US "The New Rome" and doubt the integrity of its people,
10. Has spent way too much on finishing his daddy's war in Iraq using taxpayer money that should have gone to buying everyone a Toyota Prius to put OPEC on its knees from the fall of gas prices.
11. Has had family members stay with family members of the Bin Laden family, which leads to...
12. Has increased gasoline prices in an obscene way to serve him and his other rich buddies.
And this is only the beginning. I really wonder what Ivory Tower you have been living in not to know any of the things people have been posting. But probably, as I said before, you have not been hurt by him. But many others have been.

First of all, Bush didn't handle the war on terror properly. Invading Iraq without concrete evidence that Saddam Hussein was a threat against us or connected to Al-Quaida was very irrational. Even if Bush did find evidence, he should have addressed Saddam Hussein individually, not the entire country. Bush should be sending our troops and resources to Darfur instead. Bush is also corrupt because he uses propaganda to scare us into supporting the war on terror and he's lied to us about the progress of the war. He makes it sound like we're winning and it's going well, when in reality, it's a catastrophe!
I also don't appreciate Bush's negligence to the poor and the environment. Bush spends millions of dollars fighting a gratuitous war when he could be using those millions of dollars for government programs to help the poor. Hurricane Katrina was an ignominy indeed. I fear for our planet when we have a president who denies that global warming is a reality and doesn't do anything about it. He doesn't seem to do anything to limit greenhouse gas emissions or address conservation of energy.
I'm against abortion and gay marriage, like Bush is. He said he would change the abortion law and proposed a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. So, why hasn't he implemented these policies already? Why is he playing on the hope in the eyes of anti-abortionists and anti-gay marriage advocates like me? Look, I want my president to be someone I can trust and I don't trust manipulative people.
So,Bush is worth hating because of his twisted foreign policy, his corruption, his mixed priorities, and his manipulation.

Probably because of just what you said 'he is trying to get the world together'. You know, the rest of us outside the USA don't want to be 'got together' by somebody else's president. He appears to be interested only in global domination and should be paying more attention to what's going on in his own back yard.
The rest of us don't want to be American, no more than you guys want to be European, Australian, Asian or Middle Eastern.
We are actually happy with our own identities, religions and cultures. To be anything else would be wrong.
We also aren't interested in bombing apart countries that are different than ourselves - helping them change is one thing, but slaughtering them for living differently is another. George Bush is a blinkered, inarticulate oaf who has done more damage than any other individual to world peace and stability.

I don't hate him, I didn't vote for him but that's only because I didn't think either candidate was worthy but the best man got the job in the last two elections and I will give him the respect he deserves. I did hate Clinton but I still gave him the respect of his office.

One, you can't bring the world together through violence. Two, he is doing things wrong that is why his approval has hit record lows. Three, because he is just another arrogant Texan oil business man that doesn't know his head from his ***. And judging by your statement after the question I see his No Child Left Behind still isn't working.
Pacing Myself you put it very well.

Most people who hate Bush really don't know why. They think with their feelings more than facts. They believe everything about Bush that they hear in the media.
For instance, they make out that Bush is a dummy. But never consider facts that he earned a BA from Yale and a Masters from Harvard. Al Gore flunked out of Vanderbilt, and somehow he is a 'scientist' on global warming. People believe in that because it feels good.

He is an arrogant anti-intellectual who intentionally distorted facts in order to sell one of the worst decisions ever made in American history to the American people who sheepishly bought into it hook, line and sinker, and a handful of whom still continue to defend the bad decision.
I don't hate anyone. Not the way cons hate hillary.
