Yes, Theodore Roosevelt was both a Nobel Peace Prize winner and a successful President.
Jimmy Carter, on the other hand, was a Nobel Peace Prize winner but was anything but a successful President although he must have been successful as a POLITICIAN to get to be President in the first place.

Conservatives will never win that prize because they have a problem with giving up US soverignty to global concerns. The slightest hint of nationalistic sentiment by Americans is an automatic disqualification for the award. Carter Gore Wilson 0'bama Yasser Arafat Considering THAT company, I would think it a greater honor to NOT win the award.

Three US presidents, two vice presidents and two secretaries of state have won. The majority have been Republicans.
Presidents Carter, Wilson, and Teddy Roosevelt. Vice Presidents Gore and Frank Kellogg and Secy of State Charles Dawes and George Marshall.
TR was elected only once, but he served 8 years as president. Wilson was elected twice.

Well, Al Gore was pretty successful. Carter would have had a second term if Regan hadn't been in cahoots with the Iranians to hold the captives until after the election. But, Regan was a criminal, and got in criminally, and then gave WMDs to Sadam Husshein just to prove how criminal he was.

The Peace Prize is awarded for political reasons, not peace.
Linus Pauling, Carter, Arafat, there are lots of others that did not advance peace who won.
