Kerry did spend 3 months in Vietnam, and it's kind of cute to see Democrats pretend to admire military service. Physical courage, like self reliance, is something liberals usually deride, but are tickled when it accidentally manifests itself in one of their own.

....at my salaried job. Maybe the rich guys who own the place will give me a promotion and a raise. But now I hear Hillary is going to just take some extra dough from them and give it to me for nothing if I vote for her. Why should I work harder if I can get more cash for nothing?

In his memoir of the Watergate era, Thompson admits to secretly alerting the White House to key evidence as it was discovered by congressional investigators.

Former Watergate committee investigator Scott Armstrong told ABC News that Thompson's cooperation with the White House undermined the investigation.

"It was the equivalent of two prosecutors knowing about something and one of them going behind the scenes and telling the person being accused what the witnesses were saying about him," Armstrong said.

Nixon's comments on Thompson?

"He's too dumb to beat the democrats but a real friendly guy... very well then."

The Terrorists have hit London, Spain, Bali and others but because of George W. Bush's policies;

Wire Taps
Patriot Act
Cuba Prison Camps
Fighting them over there....so we don't have to fight them over here.

The terrorists have not been able to strike America on her own soil.

Also, thanks for bringing Honor & Dignity back to the White House after Clinton and for this great economy Mr. President!

Hangman's noose found on NYC prof's door
NEW YORK - Investigators on Wednesday were looking into whether a noose hanging from the door of a black professor at Columbia University was the work of disgruntled students or even a fellow professor.

What would happen to all these people who have their life savings in the market? What would happen to mortgages that we have right now? What would happen to the few jobs that we have left?

I am curious to see what people say. Please no sarcastic comments or Democrat this, Republican that...I don't care about vendettas you may have with the other party and that doesn't enter into my question.

She and her "husband" hollowed-out our military in order to "balance" the budget. She wouldn't exactly project strength to nations that are hostile to the U.S.

Atlantic City mayor quits after disappearance

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071010/pl_nm/atlanticcity_dc_1

"PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Atlantic City Mayor Robert Levy resigned on Wednesday, 12 days after he disappeared on an unexplained medical leave and created a leadership crisis in New Jersey's gambling city.

Levy's resignation, announced by his lawyer, was precipitated by an investigation by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs which is looking into whether he actually received two awards that appear on his military record. Levy served in Vietnam during the 1960s and early 1970s..."

Apparently the guy did have a very admirable service record, but for some reason he felt he had to pad it for political purposes and to get extra VA benefit payments. It's actually sort of sad. But why no mention of his political party in the article?

A Republican on here just blamed Jimmy Carter for every problem in the 1970's.

Inflation was a problem during the NIXON Administration. It got worse under FORD. Carter inherited the problems created by those guys.

NIXON took the USA off the gold standard, which began the inflation crisis. Under NIXON OPEC cut off oil to America...which lead to the Oil crisis. MOST PEOPLE KNOW THIS...BUT A FEW REPUBLICANS IGNORE IT..AND BLAME CARTER.

Why people blame Jimmy Carter for the problems created by the Republicans is beyond me.

President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, and Robert Gates have all been trying to convince Congress to not use the word "genocide" in their decision, in regards to the mass Armenian killings in the days of the Ottoman Empire, at the end of World War I, because it would show harsh judgment against one of our allies (Turkey). Turkey is insisting that the amount of Ottoman Turks killed matched the number of Armenians killed, so it shouldn't be ruled as genocide.

What do you say? If you did believe it was a genocide, would you rule in favor of it in your decision, or would you rule against it, in order to stay in good relations with Turkey?
