I hear they are not doing so well, gee, I wonder why. Could it be that the elected officials forgot why they were elected, or simply forgot who elected them, either way, it dont look good for donkey tribe.

Isn't George W. Bush the most awesome president we've ever had??
I mean it. He's Loyal to his country and patriotic, respectful to all people, he loves people in need enough to free them from tyrany, he even cares for his oponents and puts them on a pedestal and asks "how may I help you?" and if the request is reasonable he goes out of his way to do it. Hey provided undying support for the victims of Katrina, was there in Alabama after a tragic storm, understands the needs of our troops, helps old people, likes rock and roll music...even r&b.

How can ANYONE not like him? He's for lack of a better word, AWESOME!!!

White House opposes 3.5 percent pay raise
Troops don’t need bigger pay raises, White House budget officials said Wednesday in a statement of administration policy laying out objections to the House version of the 2008 defense authorization bill.

The Bush administration had asked for a 3 percent military raise for Jan. 1, 2008, enough to match last year’s average pay increase in the private sector. The House Armed Services Committee recommends a 3.5 percent pay increase for 2008, and increases in 2009 through 2012 that also are 0.5 percentage point greater than private-sector pay raises.

Isn't it CRIMINAL that the GOP is lying to the American
people to justify this poorly-planned quagmire in Iraq?

Saddam had:
NO WMD.
NO TIES TO AL QAEDA.
NO CONNECTION TO 9/11.

These are the FACTS.

My college campus is filled with political action groups and events crying out against Darfur, and I am assuming that other college campuses are saturated with these issues as well (although there is little acknowledgement of genocide in the Congo). It's a big deal. Meanwhile, I have seen absolutley nothing from politicians and the government about these issues. Issues of human rights around the world are important to Americans- many have justified the Iraq war with them. Why does Darfur play a marginal or non-existant role in our political atmosphere when so many people feel strongly about Darfur?

Even when we were young and my husband and I were first starting out, I NEVER thought it was okay to steal from people who had money and give it to those who didn't.
I DIDN'T have money at the time, but we were determined to earn our own way in the world.

In 2004 the democrats made it sound like John Kerry's military service during Vietnam was the most important thing in the world, while making fun of George W. Bush for "only" serving in the Air National Guard. That being said, why isn't Vietnam combat experience important now that Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama are running for office? Why wasn't it an issue with Bill Clinton or Al Gore?

A republican answerer on here used this quote to defame Hillary Clinton:
"The day hillary becomes president is the day I get to say my work is finished successfully"

--Nikita Khruschev, Soviet leader 1953-1964
The answerer (william B) got 3 thumbs up for this and only 1 thumb down (from myself). Is anyone else aware that Clinton was 7 years old at the time this man was in power?

Why, if you automatically oppose the war, do you hate America? people have been able to present their views in America for over 200 years and not be criticized for it, why start now? Now that is not to say democrats don't don't do it, but i have not seen half as much from the left as from the right. Does anyone actually believe Hillary Clinton's philosophies are based on Adolf Hitler's? Does anyone believe Barack Obama is a terrorist? These silly acusations destroy what this country was built on, and the people who aim these accusations look like they want to destroy it.

Please answer this with courtesy.

I remember how much trouble we had, (before the war) finding countries that would even allow our planes to fly through their air-space to retaliate for attacks on American interests.
Do we need bases there, to confront the threats posed by the policies of Iran and Syria?
Isn't the middle east the very place we need to have a great military presence, almost any way we can; and the closer to Iran and Syria the better?
