Clinton's proposal is now called the "American Health Choices Plan." It would cost about $110 billion a year.

The centerpiece is called the "Individual Mandate," which would require every American to carry health insurance, with subsidies for the poor.
http://cbs2chicago.com/local/local_story_260122420.html

Is this like the Dream Act or any of the other amnesty bills that sound good on the surface until you read the fine print? The poor receive free healthcare now.

If her plan is so good, why isn't she introducing it now when she can vote on it? Is it because she can't raise the US tax dollars to fund this $110 billion required health plan she proposes?

The government would have access to everyone's personal information. Now how would they keep track of you? Step 2 seems that it just might involve VeriChip for the Real ID program to be implemented - to acquire your personal information through a chip implant.

Who would have access to your personal health information?

In addition to spending 110 billion of your tax dollars every year to pay for healthcare insurance, she wants you to foot the bill for anyone who can't afford to go to college and fund everybody's retirement too. All that in one speech. What other schemes will she unveil in order to buy votes from those whom she's promising to take care of at your expense?

Alan Keyes announces for President!
Will appear in Values Voter Debate Sept. 17

September 14, 2007
RenewAmerica staff
On Friday, Sept. 14, Alan Keyes filed a Statement of Candidacy (Form 2) with the Federal Election Commission--thus officially announcing as a Republican candidate for President of the United States.

Keyes told Janet Parshall, host of a nationally syndicated radio show, that he's "unmoved" by the lack of moral courage shown by the other candidates, among whom he sees no standout who articulates the "key kernel of truth that must, with courage, be presented to our people."

He added, "The one thing I've always been called to do is to raise the standard . . . of our allegiance to God and His authority that has been the foundation stone of our nation's life"--and he decried the lack of "forthright, clear, and clarion declaration" from the other candidates concerning this issue.

As a result, Keyes said, "We're putting together an effort that's not going to be like anything before, because it's going to be entirely based on citizen action. We're going to be challenging people to take a pledge for America's revival," and elevate them from spectators in the political arena to participants.

The former Reagan diplomat ran previously for president in 1996 and 2000. During the 1996 race, he was widely credited with forcing abortion to the center of public policy debate. In 2000, he was acknowledged by commentators at Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN as the winner of the Republican presidential primary debates. In that election, he continued his prior focus on America's moral crisis, and also made abolishing the income tax a serious question for policy-makers.

This election cycle, Keyes has already significantly influenced the debate, according to some observers, who note that at least a few of the GOP candidates appear intent on imitating some of Keyes' well-known positions, in an effort to woo moral conservatives--without which no Republican is likely to win in the general election.

As a prelude to running, prior to making up his mind to announce, Keyes has been writing a series of essays on the 2008 election titled "The Crisis of the Republic"--published at RenewAmerica and disseminated by several other outlets. A common theme of the articles is the need to restore personal sovereignty that is based in religious premises and self-discipline, if American society is to survive in liberty.

Keyes said he plans to join the Values Voter Presidential Debate Sept. 17 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

How many plan on catching the debate that he plans on being a part of tomorrow? Also, will this place an end to the endless liberal rant that’s been on this forum with regards to the Republicans not having a person of color in the race for the Presidency?

I’m excited that he’s become a candidate and am looking forward hearing to what he has to say. Are you?

you want to raise my taxes to pay for the health care of people that :
smoke 3 packs a day
eat fast food
never exercise
don't wash their hands
have unprotected sex
drink and drive
drive too fast
under-cook their food
use the "5 second" rule
play sports
or any of the thousands of activities people choose to engage in that result in sickness and injury.

Stealing my money to pay for your triple by-pass makes you an evil, unamerican, theiving, Nazi piece of monkey manure.

Just say "HELL NO!" to slavey (aka socialism).

I know this isn't a question, it's a rant. However, the pro-slavery (universal health care) morons on this site have been driving me crazy today. These Nazi thieves must be stopped.

I hold a "utility" patent for a utility power plant that makes NO pollution, doesn't need to burn ANY fuel, and makes power cheaper than ANY fueled process. Electric power made this way can power all our homes, cars, trucks, factories, waste management, whatever we need electricity for.
It's been to Clinton, Gore, Gingrich, Barr, the DOE, Bush, Cheeny, all over our government, even utility companies, and never one word about EVER building a power plant, just sell it out for pennies on the dollar.
Utility companies want buy it but will not discuss EVER building any plants. The patent office web site states it must work or it wouldn't be useful and therefore wouldn't be granted a patent.
With energy such a big problem, shouldn't the gov be trying the things their own people have determined does work?
Is their call to keep raping our environment, while they continue to pimp the problems and ignore solutions? Must "we" get rid of the politicians to have solutions to problems?
