"Work" is the key word there. The way it's set up now, most people get their health insurance from their employers, and couldn't afford it on their own. That means if you want healthcare, you pretty much have to work for a larger corporation to pay for your cost-sharing insurance premiums, instead of starting your own business. If you do start a business, then you're obligated to pay for the healthcare on your employees as well.
The reason the system needs to change, is because it's stifling real capitalism. The American Dream has never been to work for someone else for 30 years until they give you a crappy watch.

It's a foolish question as we are all earning money to pay for the uninsured visits to the ER anyway. Bring in preventive medicine and all of the costs come down. I find it odd how so many bash paying for other people's healthcare, but they never call out the insurance companies for colluding and jacking up the prices. That's your money too.

Sure, if it means that if I have a catostrophic illness or horrific car accident i will not have to bankrupt myself to pay the medical bills. It's happening and not just to those without insurance, there are folks out there who have sold their homes and declared bankruptcy to pay their or their loved ones medical bills after their insurance was cancelled. Nobody should have to do that. NOBODY.

No. In fact, I'd like more of what I earn back, so I can waste it on myself, my family, and my friends...or even put it in a retirement fund, since social security will be bankrupt by the time I'm eligible for it.

Absolutely,
I'd rather share my money to keep everyone healthy and content, than give one cent to a wealthy person that doesn't need it - but always gets it.
My mother once flipped out on me over paying taxes for "black" welfare mothers. Guess what... you pay 20 times more for bombs that kill than meals and rent for those who may be lazy...
Meals and doctors are better than bombs... I can sleep well at night on that decision.

If it means I will receive adequate healthcare should I need it, then yes, I will.
Such is the nature of insurance.

Yes.
Shouldn't we all want to work harder & make less money, so that we can give More to the Democrats on Welfare?
Since most Democrats on Welfare are young & healthy, but don't like to work.

I work for my taxes to provide monies for things like roads, military, fire and police depts, education, etc. and I will gladly add that to my list. Particularly as my personal contribution out of my check will diminish under the proposed plan.
I feel it is my duty to my country.
