As many before me have said, you know the answer if you've read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. As an aside, Alan Greenspan, whose book was recently released, was a great fan of Ayn Rand and has recently called himself a Libertarian Republican (or words to that effect). So maybe he became John Galt in the real world? The man in the best position to actually influence the world as we see it :-)

How many John Galt's are there in the USA? If we end up with a Democrat/Socialist president, will they say enough is enough?

Oh so tired of this question - lol - I will not ramble on about why or why not he is important or useless..lets just go with the protagonist in ATLAS SHRUGGED by Ayn Rand. Or we could probably debate even that point.
