that the constitution states in the preamble that the goal of the rights and laws is to "promote the general welfare"? whenever someone wants to do something that's clearly malicious in nature, like neo nazi marches, people say it's there right. it obviously doesn't promote the general welfare, rather, it does the exact opposite.

also, we already partly outlaw that right in times of definite wrongdoing, like slander. why do people scream that we're infringing rights when someone does something just as bad, like promote violence

by the way, this is not an attack on america or it's policies, i'm simply stating the constituition limits the government. people like to think of the founding fathers as gods but it's not true. no one's perfect. the consitution can be important to our government, but it shouldn't control it.

Each block could have 3 or 4 spies who would observe strange neighbors doing strange and suspicious things and report them to DHS.

Sorry for the similar question to the one I just posted, but I'm looking for more responses, detailed ones would be good.

Under what circumstance would deploying a weapon of mass destruction against a civilian target benefit the United States of America? Even if we were attacked with nukes, what would striking innocent people accomplish?

I'm hawkish on all other military matters, but if nukes and other weapons are nothing more than a bluff, why don't we dismantle them? And under what insane circumstance would you have to come up with for there to be a precedent for using them?

I'd spend money on preventing nuclear strikes, missile defense shield, border security, etc. I'd never deploy WMD under any circumstance.

If you disagree, please state why, and please do it with civility.

Why do you oppose warrantless surveillance now if it was ok and proven successful in world war 2? We are in a war right now...the war on terror.....correct?

Hoping for some real cerebral responses here.

It's pathetic that HMO's are a multibillion dollar industry who's primary goal is to reward shareholders. Ya, give me thumbs down. It's so sad that the rich get richer every time they deny you care and yet you actually think that's OK. You must just love paying hundreds monthly for your family plan so the Kaiser CEO can buy a bigger yacht. Why don't you republicans try getting your head out of your a** just once. Than maybe you won't cont to loose your seats in congress and senate and you preciouse president may actually have an approval rating better than that whopping 28% that the dumb a** currently has.

You haven't gotten a thing right since Bush Sr. and that was leaving Iraq. You talk on every question like the republicans are reincarnations of christ and every liberal is the anti-christ. are you so arrogant that you can't see the error of your ways the past 10 years. you talk like the democrats are little children. what does that mean? can you not think of a decent reason why the democrats are wrong? I can think of plenty of reasons why the republicans are wrong, like not giving medicare the ability to negotiate drug prices, blocking universal health care, and keeping us in iraq just to name a few. So give me one, just one reason why republicans are better than democrats. when were republicans the peacebringers to ours and other countries when the democrats were wrong. all the democrat presidents have been great ones since FDR. and none of the republicans have been able to do anything right except reagan in his 1st term.

1. Pull every last American out of Iraq

2. Give 'em all snow-suits and send them to ANWR and set them up guard shacks every mile along the Alaska pipeline.

3. Get the Army Corps of Engineers out there and work 'em in 3 shifts until they get 1000 functioning oil wells drilled. Should take 'em about a month to get'er'done

4. Pump the place dry as fast as we can and pipe it all to the strategic oil reserves.

5. Sell the oil to refineries at discount prices and use 100% of the proceeds to fund research and development of alternatives and infrastructure to get us off of oil.

6. When ANWR runs dry, send the corps out to sea and get 'em to work on offshore platforms, lether rinse repeat to the oil reserves.

7. Decrease import oil to ZERO ASAP

8. Let the neanderthals go back to killing each other instead of us!

Please vote "Yes" or "No", and state your political affiliation.

ok.. i've come up with a number of about 100million Muslims (10% of all Muslims) are within this "extreme radicalism". is this crazy on my part? is this number too high? why is it that no leaders in the Muslim community condemn what these terrorists do? they never speak of the insanity of these radicals behaviors. why don't their leaders come forward and condemn them and their actions??

What do our friends mean when they apply the label "Liberal?" If by "Liberal" they mean, as they want people to believe, someone who is soft in their policies abroad, who is against local government, if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and civil liberties -- one who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, is this what they mean by a "Liberal," then would you not be proud to say "I am a "Liberal."

Now don't attack the messenger, answer the question with intelligence.
