David M,

So all the cripples, mentally disabled, and all the "unwanted" babies in the world, are "good for nothing", to throw away like trash???

Oracle,

Slavery was a choice, Do we still practice slavery?

Religion is a choice, do you choose Islam (Violence in the name of religion), or do you want to practice Christianity? Which tells us to Love those who despitefully use and persecute us for His sake...

Genocide is a choice? Hitler chose genocide, WE chose genocide, we hung 11 million of Negroes, do we still hang them?

We chose genocide on the Native Americans, 5 million in total, do we still Murder them? There mostly gone...

Now we come to the unborn-- Why are we still Murdering them? It's been the worst genocide in History in itself, over 40 million and counting...

Let me just say this, Sir ... Choice is what you make of it, and what God's Word says is what will matter in the end, not what you or anyone else says, God's Word will stand when everything else has failed.

'Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.'

Many leftists could take that into consideration without overlooking it.

T

I am darn sure that is not what is in the minds of those who want health care provided for those who cannot afford medical care due to circumstances beyond their control. There are a lot of people who have lost jobs, pensions, working for below minimum wage & holding two jobs, etc. These people cannot afford insurance, nor can they afford an office visit to a Doctor @ the cost of $70 for 15 minutes plus the cost of medicine that costs an arm & a leg! Since abortion is a womans choice, let her pay for it or keep from getting pregnant in the first place! Just because a person is old doesn't mean that they are worthless, those of us who want to see others have decent health care, do not condone Euthanasia, for anyone! Get a grip on reality, please!

There are pros and cons of every subject. Socialized medicine is no exception. Cons to socialized medicine have to do with a decreases in the level of general care available and the limitation of choice with regard to whom you can chose as you physician.

The examples you listed are not valid in my opinion. Proponents of Abortion, Euthanasia, Cloning, etc, NEVER say that anyone has to have these procedures preformed on them. However in a free society that is open to freedom such as ours should have these service available to those who wish to utilize them.

It seems to me that we have forgotten that freedom of choice is the core belief the country was built on. Many of those who first came to this country were seeking to escape repression of there ideals. Here they created a place where all people should be able to co-exist, but we are changing into a society similar to that in the middle east where the ideals of a single religion are so intertwined with the policies of the governing authority we become intolerant of all others.

As recently as 2005 the right of the Mormons to marry more then one wife was completely banned though out the country leavening them no place to practice there religious beliefs. The Mormon Religion was a Christian denomination so how will we treat ideals that are diametrically opposed to the Christian faith, such as abortion. Is the movement to ban it based on an actual danger to society at large or on religious dogma?

I'm sure that it will. Did you know that in the 30's when Margaret Sanger began planned parenthood she had the plan to get rid of the black population this way. She of course did not want them to realize it. "The most successful, educational appeal to the ***** is through a religious appeal. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the ***** population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their rebellious members.10"
Abortion is evil. and Margaret Sanger was an evil woman who believed that any weak or sick member of society should be done away with. Any reasonable person should research the beginnings of "family planning" and see the evil for what it is.

What's wrong with abortion and voluntary euthanasia, besides your narrow moral view of things?

EDIT: Jeremy, note the use of the term "voluntary" euthanasia, such as what Kevorkian did. If someone is suffering, they should be allowed to commit "dignified" suicide, rather than suffer through the pain. That's their choice to make. And regarding the comatose - if they made it clear before they were comatose that they wished to be pulled off of life support, then they should be.

As for abortion, I consider the right of a woman to choose the course of her body AND future more important than the "right" of a clump of undefined cells to live. Besides, what would happen to that baby if it was born? A life of drugs, abuse, and poverty? A murderer who would take the life of an innocent person?

In Canada, where I live, abortion is covered--up to a certain number of weeks of pregnancy--and euthanasia is not: it's a crime. Under any universal health care plan, decisions will have to be made about what is covered and what isn't.

You are grossly uninformed. Perhaps you should try getting your information from credible sources for a change.

P.S. Most Americans are in favor of abortion rights and the right to die with dignity.

That is not Eugenics. That is practical and the right of free people to choose without government interference.

Elective surgery will no doubt NOT be covered and euthanasia is NOT legal except in executions. Why do you wish to demonize half of the country? Surely you don't believe what you are saying.

There are many misconceptions about Margaret Sanger. Please read the link.

Since the left's health care plan does not involve "socialized medicine" what relevance does your question have? Unless it is designed to misinform it can only be described as ignorant. I will leave the choice up to you - which are you - dishonest or ignorant?

lol... the secret behind universal health care is to make abortions free and euthanasia common place? That was a good laugh, but seriously, give us all a break.
