John Reid is charismatic and tough but i don't think the labour would want an ex commie as leader.

How about Alan Johnson? Bit of a dark horse but i on't know anything about him. is he a credible candidate?

In the mid-90s, we had a budget surplus. Despite what one may wish to believe, this is not because Clinton was a financial or genius, or that the Republican Congress was any better economically. We had a surplus because the two government branches constantly bickered and fought for their ideals.

Will a similar situation benefit Americans as a whole if the opposing party competes with the White House?

As far as deceit and unkept promises, both parties are about neck and neck. In propaganda republicans have the lead and in hopeless ideals democrats are ahead. There are so many headlines and interviews where politicians speak about how important something is and how they vow to change it, then theres never anything else spoken of it since. And apparently no change either. All in all I would have to say Republicans and Democrats are both equally incompetent and unsuitable for the leadership of this great nation. What do you think?

Alright, well I tried to get people to explain why they think that the palestinians are a bunch of religious nuts with no real grievances and that their fighting with Israel is purely religiously motivated. My question was brushed aside by most on the grounds that Aljazeera was a biased source.

Well, personally I don't believe that Aljazeera is a biased source, but let's take some different sources:

Admittedly, it's not as dramatic as listing all the deaths of palestinians at the hands of Israeli forces for the past two months, but it still describes the actions of Israel in Gaza as "Ethnic Cleansing".

So I ask again, why do these things not matter? And why do you think that the Palestinians are just preying on those poor helpless Israelis?

for you people who suport abortion, and accuse Bush of being a baby killer. I don't remember any news story of Bush personaly taking a life let alone the life of a baby. What part of war do you not understand? I can only say... was going into Iraq a mistake? No the vision was noble. were mistakes made? yes. Is the loss of innocent life a tragedy? no question. I don't think any American president who has sent troops into battle takes any loss of life lightly in any reguard. I can only ask of all of you... we all beleive our view is right, well let me break it to you... no view is 100 percent correct. until we stop the blame game and work together the world will continue to see us as the Divided States of America. I am going to personal start. Dems, Libs, Progressives, Repubs, and all other political labels you all have valid points. As much as I couldn't disagree with some of your views more, You all are all right with me. Isn't that what make our country great.

I can understand the need to execute people who can still be a danger inside a prison, like white supremist leaders, mafia bosses or cult leaders, but since i don't believe in hell why should i feel happy that a serial killer gets the sweet release of death?I really preferred that they rot in prison and get butt raped every night.

So the Republican excuse for torture is the Jack Bauer argument. Why can't we libs hijack that one? If the only way to prevent another 9/11 is to do stem cell research, or give people a living wage, or provide oversight to the executive, shouldn't we do it?
