I can understand the need to execute people who can still be a danger inside a prison, like white supremist leaders, mafia bosses or cult leaders, but since i don't believe in hell why should i feel happy that a serial killer gets the sweet release of death?I really preferred that they rot in prison and get butt raped every night.

I see your point. However, think that those inmates are costing the taxpayers a lot of money. Why should we pay for a serial killer when he can just be executed? I'm tired of my money going to inmates who have wronged somebody and I think that dangerous criminals should be executed because why should we keep them alive?

The biggest threats to your safety in prison are NOT from Mafia bosses...cult leaders or white supremacist leaders.

They are from GANGS......primarily black and Hispanic (mostly Mexican).

The death penalty is NOT used "copiously"....in fact it takes an average of 14-15 YEARS after sentencing to see a killer executed.

WHY use the death penalty? The safety of the more "minor" non-violent criminals...the correction officers and the staff. And in my opinion there are some crimes that are so heinous that the rights of thevictims and society demand that the killers pay with their lives.

The odds are extremely high for any killer to actually be executed...so what do you do when someone who has already killed people then kills a prison nurse....a chaplain....or correction officers?

This is a good question but I can't see what being an atheist has to do with the death penalty...

.And no one has asked you to be "happy"....with killers dying....I'd love to see them rot in cells and NEVER let out. But the cost of keeping these animals alive is extremely high.....and the threats that they present to others outweighs the concept of keeping them alive.

Personally I feel we can use that money better to help the VICTIMS of their crimes.and their shattered families who will never have peace in this life again.

Well unfortunately you have been indoctrinated by the liberal left telling you to be happy 24 hours a day and unfortunately the rest of us live in something called the real world. Here in the real world we have something called a society and in this thing called a society, we as Americans have decided to rule ourselves by something called a democracy. In a democracy ultra-liberal democrats named Mr. Happy don't get to tell the rest of us what to think and do. If an issue is large enough we put it on the ballot and the people decide what they want. Here in America the majority of Americans support the death penalty. Even if it doesn't make you happy. Grow up, put down your comic books for a second and learn what it means to be an American.

I don't think that Christians are pro death penalty because they believe it gets people to hell faster. Their reasons for being pro death penalty are the same as everyone elses.

Because they are wasting your tax dollars feeding and sheltering them every night, even if they are getting a few too many caboose rides!

You don't have to support anything. It's going to happen whether you like it or not.
