When an authoritative report, such as the National Intelligence Estimate, coincides 100% with common sense, it must be true. There are more terrorists who want to attack the US now, on account of our occupation of Iraq, than ever before. The longer US troops occupy that country, the more terrorists we will inspire and breed. So the sooner we leave Iraq and begin guarding our own shores, the safer we will be.

A lot more vulnerable, although the jihadists are not foolish enough to try a 9/11 again until they've softened us up more through immigration of sleeper cells, oil price-gouging, and attacks at their primary targets in India and Europe. Going into Iraq, a secular and localized tyranny, was as stupid as if we had started World War Two by attacking neutral Spain just because it had strong ties to Hitler.

We should have bombed terrorist camps all over the Moslem world and sent in CIA assassins to kill them in Europe, as was done in the movie "Munich." The Chickenhawk-in-Chief should have bypassed the Taliban, finished the job at Tora Bora, and hunted down the survivors retreating through Pakistan. Then he should have exterminated Hezbollah in Lebanon and taken out the wide-open training camps in Iran.

Far more vulnerable, in that it has incited more violence and hate against us. We need to learn to mind our own business, and stay out of other peoples' affairs. Iraq was already completely crippled and we knew it going in, but the american people were blinded by lies from Bush and Co. Everyone seemed to forget that 1) there was no evidence that 9/11 had anything to do with Iraq, and 2) we and the british had bombed the hell out of Iraq and controlled about 1/3 of the country already through the no fly zones, so we knew there was no real threat. I was one of the few that spoke out against it from the beginning, but was certainly unpopular among my friends and coworkers, now suddenly they are saying it was a big mistake. tell that to the 2500+ soldiers killed and over 10,000 maimed. Shame on those who sent these over with no reason at all.

The Iraqi war made you more vulnerable: America has more enemies and at the same time the willingness of Americans for another war is much smaller. Therefore when another serious conflict or 9/11-like event occur, it will be much more difficult for the administration to defend the country.

I dont know, do you feel more vulnerable? Had any major buildings around you get blown up recently? Been on a hijacked plane last you can remember? How about a burning bus? Ofcourse the war has made us safer. If nothing else these lunatics get to deal with the US Marines rather than trying to pick on our civilians. Long term, we will have to see. If Dems get their way then we will quit another war and no we won't be safer then. But as long as Bush is on watch we will see this thing to the end, no matter how long it takes. We'll help build Iraq into a safe, economic powerhouse that it could be and the whole world will be better for it. In the meantime sleep well at night and say a little prayer that liberals don't get their way in a few weeks.

more vulnerable, all of these heightened security measures make you feel safe but we are no more safer than we were a few years ago. personally i would perfer it if we had clinton back in office and due to the fact that the economy is struggling because of all the security measures being taken by the US as well as the war....

just because the US and UK managed to kill top terrorists doesn't mean we don't face terror. The decision to go to iraq has made so many people angry. What would you do if you was an innocent person and your family was killed in the war? Would you not want to hurt the ones who destroyed your family?

Opression breeds anger, anger breeds hate, and hate breeds terrorism.

Al Quada is a terrorist group. Just because you destroy that group don't mean you destroy the hate within the individuals whose life is wasted because of the war.

We have increased the number of terrorists world-wide, indirectly strengthened Al-Qaida, and are just adding to the conflict of rival insurgent groups. Our interrogation processes are not helping us. And the Bush Administration do not care enough to secure our borders. (The fence is unacceptable because there is no way to pay for it and it is only 700 miles long).
Less safe, most definitely.

NIE actually. Bush tried to keep it a secret. What does that tell you?

I'd agree with that, we have been put in the position of being targets for any terrorist and extremist!
