My first thought was yes...and if not, then it should be. But keep reading...

In the linked article, Bush's supporters want to deny terrorist suspects habeas corpus.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060928/ap_on_go_pr_wh/congress_terrorism_40;_ylt=AgYsQDgsImnBceWSe3jJtVITv5UB;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

I hate terrorists as much as the next guy, but the Constitution specifically says:

The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

Suspects in Gitmo are not a Rebellion nor Invasion. Theoretically, they can be innocent (and should therefore have rights)...unlike the guy we rendered by mistake to Syria who got tortured.

So...Is it Constitutional NOT to allow terrorist suspects to petition for habeas corpus?

Governments of these countries ordered to remove most part of monuments to WWII victims. They forbidden Soviet Army celebrate Victory day and name them war criminals. On the other hand they also believe ex-Nazis as veterans and fighters for independence. Only Russia protests against what is going on, none more even Israel. Now these countries are members of EU and NATO. They need to be stopped.

Right now they are trying to give the Bush Admin. a hard time for not doing enough before 9/11/01, but have spent the past 4 years giving the them a hard time for going too far with the Patriot Act, terrorist interrogation methods, and anything else that helps us beat Al Quaida?

Clinton claims he has done more than Bush, but when Clinton left office Bin Laden had enough power to strike us on 9/11.

Bush however has Bin Laden hiding in a cave and afraid to show his face.

Who has really done more?

Supply and Demand: plenty of oil for many years to come - Come on folks and wake up already - where do you think that huge Bush campaign "war chest" came from in 2000?? Why do we constantly accept all the excuses for high prices when the big oil companies make record profits. The Republican Party might lose majority position in Congress now and gas prices mysteriously have dropped recently but the excuses for high prices remain the same....WHY???

My dad is out in iraq. I support the troops more then many repubs can say. I help bring hundreds of dollars worth of food for the troops with only the money i make. I love the troops and what they do for us. They go into harms way to fight for us and are freedom. I just don't want them dying for something i believe is unjust. So why do you think i hate the troops? I believe I support the troops, its not like veitnam where we have ppl spitting at the troops calling them baby killers.
