Clinton's own guy said we had Bin Laden in our sights on 10 different occasions. Clinton let him go. He obviously and TRULY (Not for the press) thought he was not a big threat.

The article below had nothing to do with Bill's blowup with Chris Matthews, nor your latest propoganda allegations

David why didnt Clinton capture Bin Laden in Sudan? why didnt Clinton try to capture Bin Laden in 98 after the embassy bombings? Why didnt Clinton have a single CIA operative working inside Afghanistan during the 1990's (read GHOST WARS by stephen coll)? Why was Clinton biggest concern during the 1990's was buying back old STINGER missles in afghanistan and ignoring the terrorist camps that were there? Why didnt Clinton try to capture Bin Laden in 2000 after USS Cole attack? I would worry much more about these questions than whether why Bush didnt capture Bin Laden in his first few months as president. Clinton accomplish ZERO against Bin Laden in 8 years and various attacks on us by Bin laden throughout the world.

Because Clinton had lied so much if the past George thought he was lying. After all Clinton had know about Bil Laden for years, vowed three times to bring those responsible to justice. Had many Chances to get Bin Laden. George thought bill was trying to trick him.

See what happens when you lie alot? When you tell the truth no one believes you!

You seem to be misinformed. The Bush administration did more to fight terrorism and capture bin laden in 8 months prior to 9/11 than the Clinton administration did in 8 years. One of the first things Bush did was increase the budget for covert operations in the CIA five fold! There are many other examples of Bush competence and Clinton incompetence if you care to actually do research yourself instead of just regurgitating someone else's bullshit.

"The Bush administration did more to fight terrorism and capture bin laden in 8 months prior to 9/11 than the Clinton administration did in 8 years." -- The Bush administration had not one meeting on UBL in the eight months prior to the 9/11 attacks. How is that aiming to capture him?
"One of the first things Bush did was increase the budget for covert operations in the CIA five fold!" -- Covert operations are important, but only if you are not working in Iran and are not the wife of an American ambassador.

Because bush wanted a war and he new from being friends with the bin laden family that they could get osama to creat a travisty that would allow bush to claim war time powers and thus push through much of his neocon policies, and to attack iraq a country that had nothing to do with Osama.

That is a very good question. Bush had even more warnings after Clinton left office and did nothing. Good Luck. :)

barter256 must be a know it all - OK Smart guy! By increasing the CIA "five fold" as you put it , Did it prevent 9/11? ............ I am no fan of Bush but I don't think he ignored the warnings , he just downplayed them while staying busy focusing on his administration's WARPED agenda.
