We Irish were basically in the same situation when the IRA's bombing campaign was going on.
You could not open your mouth in support of republicanism without being immediately asked to condemn the IRA....

Immigrants pouring into the UK have been blamed for a huge number of foreigners arrested here. The total is up 20% on last year and now 1 in 10 suspects detained originally moved here from other countries.5% of the Uk population are foriegners,so thats a HUGE amout proportionatlly. The governments answer..I quote 'It's difficult to draw any conclusions from these figures'??!!
I'm sorry.I must be missing something here. How much MORE evidence does this government need b4 it starts reacting. They seem mind-numbingly oblivious to all that happens in the 'real ' world.
Anyone agree?

Here, I'll give you the statement that the Pope should have given:

The fact that nearly 30% of Muslims support suicide bombers and regard them as martirs, and a greater percentage believe in jihad tells us that Islam, by and large, is a violent and evil cult. Are there "good" muslims? Yes, the ones that sit silently by as thousands were killed on 9/11, hundreds killed and thousands injured in Spain, London, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, etc. These are also the same "good" muslims that in reaction to the Pope's comments, engaged in a civil demonstration of burning buildings, killing nuns, disrespecting Jesus, and have called on the assassination of the Pope. These are also the same good Muslims that have set up Sharia law in Canada and Michigan.

You want an apology? Well you won't get it, since you proved my comments with your beastly behavior. OBL, Zarqawi, Zawahiri, Atta behead, kill, main, all in the name of Allah and not a peep.

Muslims are cowards.

Who else believes that this is the most racist idea they've ever heard of? Not only does it represent positive discrimination (which, in itself, is morally repugnant), it also suggests that minorities only value money, but, moreover, that democracy can be bribed and artifically stimulated. Menzies Campbell you're a numpty and I wont vote Lib-Dem again until you're gone. Git.

That if Al Gore was elected instead of Bush, and did the same thing as Bush, would people hate him, and would it be the same people that hate Bush?

Regardless of the answer, I see a strong trend to only give thought (?) to answers that confirm the askers point of view. Why bother asking? Are so many people on this site so insecure with their beliefs that they need constant confirmation of them? I know it is temping to "award" somebody that marches lock-step with your beliefs, but isn't the whole point of asking questions, and recieving answers, to learn? Perhaps modify your interpretation of the world? If not, are you simply practicing mental masterbation?

Now that it's all coming out in the wash regarding Al Queda's role in Iraq, that facts were twisted by Bush and Cheney regarding the real truth of what transpired in Iraq, and Colin Powel speaking out against Bush? My thoughts still remain as perceived- Junior wanted to finish the job Dad didn't so as to take the discrace off the Bush family! Cheney's motivation was all about Haliburton-period! Let's face it, Old George got the boot while Saddam sat in power laughing to the amusement of the day!
Personally I think we attacked the wrong country! If we don't deal with Iran and North Korea in the very near future we will pay an unconscionable debt later! What are your thoughts?
